Looking for a decent London hotel for Nov. Prices on trivago, bookings.com. expedia and secret escapes are crazy!
£200 a night!

Anyone use anything else?

that seems a reasonable price tbh 🤷‍♀️

rookiemere · 15/10/2025 15:08

Have you checked Premier Inn or Travel
Lodge? Neither use third parties so you would need to check their own websites.

Navigatinglife100 · 15/10/2025 15:13

I look on IHG for Holiday Inn Group hotels. Mainly because i have points to use. Then Premier Inn, Travelodge and Novotel. Then booking.com

I would expect to find somewhere cheaper than £200 but not many places and definitely not if in Central London.

What do you mean by decent?

Expedia or booking.com. Have a look whether you can get cashback via quidco

Are you seriously thinking that £200 pn is expensive in London?

WonsWoo · 15/10/2025 15:21

A premier Inn in Waterloo is £190 for one night so I think you'd be hard pushed to find something for under £200.

Navigatinglife100 · 15/10/2025 15:25

Limehouse Holiday Inn looks most affordable on the random November date I picked @ £116. But for pretty central Bloomsbury at £176 was the best on the night i picked.

Leeds2 · 15/10/2025 15:26

I would always book direct with the hotel/chain. I usually stay at Hiltons, so I can collect points to use as part payment in future bookings.
I don't think £200 per night is at all bad for central London, tbh.

AltitudeCheck · 15/10/2025 15:29

Ibis / Travelodge and Sunday nights (if you have any flexibility) but £200 isn't uncommon for London. Alternatively stay on outskirts (AirBnB?) and travel in on the train.

MissMoneyFairy · 15/10/2025 15:59

What dates are you looking at and what area, central London will cost that, I'd stay slightly out and get a bus or tube in unless you need to be central. I use hotels.com, book directly with the hotel or use last minute.com.

Eggybreadwithnuts · 15/10/2025 16:17

7-9 Nov 2 people

Lots of Premier Inns in the area you are looking for are under 200 a night.

KazzaV · 15/10/2025 16:24

Premier inn hubs are very good - book the larger room for 2 people

mamagogo1 · 15/10/2025 16:27

Trivago collects data from multiple sites so I check that first, I check premier inn separately.

look at the Exhibitionist hotel - smallish rooms but quirky style and excellent location.

HannahHamptonsGloves · 15/10/2025 16:27

Blackfriars Premier Inn, in one of their 'luxury' rooms is £402. Doesn't include breakfast, but in London I'd probably just grab a coffee and croissant from a coffee shop, or go somewhere nice for brunch instead. But if you want breakfast included then it's £405 for their standard room with unlimited cooked buffet.

Sorry - with link

mamagogo1 · 15/10/2025 16:28

It’s by the museums but right on tube

JustReacher · 15/10/2025 16:28

London just is expensive.

allmycats · 15/10/2025 16:37

Just find something on the booking sites and then contact them direct. £200 is not a lot these days.

Z hotel Holborn 353 for 2 nt
Thistle tower bridge 382
Citizen m 369
Premier inn tower bridge 295
Premier inn Islington 350 for Premier plus room
There are quite a few on hotels.com, don't bother with breakfast unless it's PI, so many lovely and cheaper places to eat

Thistle is the one I want to stay at but the price with breakfast is 400.

The reason I want brekkie is....we're eating out in the evening for 2 nights so cant really afford to pay for breakfast, light lunch and dinner

LlynTegid · 15/10/2025 19:36

I book directly with the hotel most of the time, unless by doing so I have to pay upfront and do not have the option of paying at the hotel.

Eggybreadwithnuts · 15/10/2025 19:40

All prices are the dame at the mo with bookings sites and direct with hotel

We recently paid just under £200 a night for the Covent Garden travel lodge.
