What’s with the weather forecast?

Was looking forward to a last hurrah in the pub beer garden today after bbc weather forecast wall to wall sunshine. Not a glimpse of it! Cold and grey all day (and the app still says ☀️)

Is it just the midlands that have been promised something that didn’t deliver?

met office App kept changing for both Sat & Sun. I didn't put the washing on as it had changed to grey & cold... it's now blue skies & sunny 🙄🙄.

too unwell to be arsed going out (not contagious just don't cope well with medication I'm on) but it is now a lovely afternoon 🙄

Been exactly the same in the NW today, forecast partly sunny until 3 when it was changing to full sun so held off going for a walk until now so we could stop off for one outside the pub on our way back, except it’s still wall to wall grey out there not a hint of sun all day.

We were promised sun from midday so I put some towels out, but it's been grey and cloudy all day. They are still sitting on the line looking bored, so I'm going to have to bring them in and put them all over the radiators😠

We're just back from the park (central London)

We were all down to our t-shirts and I wasn't running about like the kids, I was just sitting. Glorious afternoon but was quite grey up until we went out about 1pm-ish.

South here, was supposed to bright sunshine all day and it's only just starting to clear up a bit now. Has been grey all day.

I have to do low level meteorological training for work every so often. Last time (about 6 years ago) the trainer (from Met Office) told us that there are 8 factors they look at for weather forecasting (don’t ask me what they are!), and they go with what the majority suggest. In the past, it’s been common for there to be a clear majority. However, with the changing climate, this is becoming less clear. As the climate is changing, the old computer models are becoming out dated.
