Vintage cash cow

A few years ago I sent off old broaches and beads from my late mum. I received about £300.

Wednesday I sent off a few coins, obsolete foreign bank notes. Old cheap watches and a few other things.
Just had my offer of £499. I'm in shock as I thought it was all rubbish.
Maybe I could have tried to sell everything myself but that would have taken a lot of time.

Have you had dealings with vintage cash cow and were happy with the offer.

Yes and no not at all. Or their attitude to sending things back. Is this an ad?

Never used them and no plans to do so. Anything I want to sell goes to a reputable auction house.

There have been other threads this year on vintage cash cow. Look them up - you might find them useful. However I dont think anyone has been offered the sums you disclose for a few bits.

This is not an ad. And I have really received the money. Today's went in my bank at 2.30pm..
The things I sent didn't seem to be valuable to me. I'm happy just to get rid of clutter.

I took some bits to a local jewellers yesterday and came out with £820 in crisp £20 notes.

Was also super helpful regarding what could be repaired and was worth keeping.

Going to spend the weekend digging out more unwanted gold and silver pieces.

I've heard that they do not pay well, so you must have had some good items, OP.
Best to take to auction, as pp said. I took some to one of those high street buyers, they weighed and evaluated the gold and gave a price I was really happy with.

I never understand how they can insure boxes sent to them for up to £10,000 - what would happen if it got lost in transit before they were able to see and value the contents?!

They had a full 3-minute advert on TV today - granted it was Channel 5, but they must have to find the money for all of those adverts somehow!

I think their model probably works around people getting rid of what they see as old junk, and being delighted to get anything for it. I rather think it would be a very different matter if you knew you had something worth approx. £X and sent it to them, expecting to be offered around that value.

I wouldn’t use them: sent them a box full of things, 2 diamond rings cost £1500 each. A gold wedding band and engagement ring, some silver bits, a Tiffany necklace in box, 2 pandora bracelets full of charms and a lot of other jewelry kind orla Kiley watch and Vivian Westwood necklace and got a paltry offer of £435! Asking for it back and will try my luck locally or on vinted
