Do you have security bollards across your driveway?

If you do, how do you find them? A pain in the neck or something you get used to?

Interested in how effective they are against theft and what type you’d recommend too.

Are these just regular bollards?

I presume there are fancy versions now but in the olden days, when I was a little un, my parents had one outside the flat for parking space reasons.

Is that what you mean, so they had to pull over to the side, hop out of the car, use a key to pull the bollard down and then drive into the space.

It wasn't seen as an anti theft device, especially for the crappy old car but I can see why it would be effective!

I mean those used to help deter car thieves..I think some are telescopic and some you have to actually
take out.

My neighbour's car was stolen and not long after they installed a driveway bollard. I think they used it for a couple of months and never again since. It's obviously a deterrent, but it's obviously a faff for the car owner too.
A steering wheel lock is probably less faff.

Ours drove me nuts to be honest. There had been a lot of car theft in our area, and we did use them religiously, but one by one the keys atopped working until there was only one that semi-worked and sometimes stuck .. although I had a Mini so could squeeze out anyway .. I would say if you fit them, get a guarantee so that they'll come out and sort them if they start playing up.
Nobody stole our cars mind.

Where I used to live in London had a row of town houses with parking spaces outside that were on the road (not driveways) but belonged to the houses. Most of them had a bollard and they were to keep the space safe because they generally stayed down when a car was parked there. However, cars have become easier to steal since then and the last time that I was in London I noticed that a lot of the cars had steering wheel locks like cars used to have when I was a child in the 70s, so perhaps the bollards where I used to live are now also used when the car is in place.

If it's about theft, I would definitely get a steering lock.
