"Can I have Dutch braids?"

The words that make my heart sink into my shoes. Is there a trick to making this easier? Do some people have more hands than me?
I can usually do them after several false starts and much swearing but find it so hard.

Do you have long hair yourself? I practiced on my own and got adept at that which helped with DDs. But still I agree…it makes me inwardly groan and know that we will end up being late.

I do have long hair. I've never tried on myself, that seems impossible! But I will give it a go.

Practice without the time pressure a few times. My first attempts weren't very neat, but practice helps! You do need to hold two different sections in the same hand some of the time - pincer grip and lower hand. And also have the courage to let go of the strand coming underneath so that you can gather the next section: you need to hold all the rest quite firmly in order for the un-held strand to stay in place.

Good luck!

YouTube is good for tutorials, I find it easier on slightly damp hair, I use a water spray just a little bit and find that helps.

"No" 😊

I said no.

Got a hairdresser to give a lesson.

By 11 or so she was doing a great job herself.

She did mine for a party last night!

@AhBiscuits just say you’ll have a go, and will definitely need to practice on her before you get good enough for her to wear them out.
