I am an autumn lover - and I find myself with a solo weekend.
What would you do?

So far, I have get myself some posh snacks from M and S on my way home

I was thinking of apple and cinnamon porridge tomorrow morning for breakfast in bed while I read a spooky book.

What else can I do/ would you do?

I was also considering making some pumpkin spiced scones

What’s the weather going to be like. I fancy a good autumn walk with crunchy leaves but we have lots of rain and high winds so that ain’t happening.

clipboardz · 03/10/2025 10:32

For me it would depend on the weather. A nice walk on a beautiful autumn day is heaven as pp said but it's raining here.

Taurielwasntinthebook · 03/10/2025 10:32

Autumn crafts - I’ve made sock pumpkins, cinnamon roll pumpkins etc

Watch some Autumn TV/Films - anything from Gilmore Girls to You’ve got mail…

visit an arboretum

The Cotswolds are a lovely trip in the autumn if you’re nearby

Weather here is chilly and crisp this weekend- no rain predicted.
I was thinking of a nice walk into town for a coffee visit.
LIke the idea of crafts as well. I'll be by myself from about 11am on Saturday until Monday morning

Autumn walk to a park with pretty trees.
Coffee shop and cake.
Definitely nice treats.

I would craft ready for Christmas/winter.
Snuggling under a blanket.

Rubiscoisfantastic · 03/10/2025 11:19

All of the above and make some nice homemade soup and bread.

Hot chocolate
Candles

I am green with envy.
Warming porridge in bed, curtains open looking out at the sky.
A trip to a coffee shop in town, reading a paper.
Homemade soup for lunch.
Afternoon under blanket on the sofa watching an old fashioned scary film.
A hot bath with bubbles, light supper & reading in bed.
Sunday morning a trip to a scenic village church followed by making a mini roast dinner consisting entirely of the best bits- basically an entire plate of Yorkshire pudding and gravy.
Baking a cake for next week.
A Miss Marple on tv.
Bed.
No housework, laundry or administration.
😭

You definitely need a Sunday roast - either cook one or go to a lovely pub.

Taurielwasntinthebook · 03/10/2025 14:03

A trip to a farmers market before lunch on Saturday would be good for stocking up on treats, maybe choose something to make a pie or crumble with.

Collect conkers, acorns and fallen leaves on your walk and put them all in an autumn bowl on your window sill.

Make chutney and squirrel it away for Christmas.

WallLight · 03/10/2025 16:27

Get out for a walk somewhere wooded.
