Dizziness Could it be Sinuses

Hi
I had Covid 2 weeks ago, ended up with a sinus infection out of that and got antibiotics from GP that was last week. I had episodes of dizziness at times they only lasted a few minutes. I have finished the antibiotics now and this evening I took a dizzy spell so bad it hasn't gone away and I'm vomiting with it. Will try get a gp appointment tomorrow but would a sinus infection that hasn't cleared cause dizziness? Just wondering if anyone else has had something similar TIA

This is probably not the case for you but a few months ago I had bad flu, maybe COVID I didn't test as I was too ill to go anywhere anyway. I also had antibiotics thinking I had a sinus infection after, I was getting horribly dizzy. It was only that I wear a Fitbit that I noticed periods of high resting heart rate. I've now been told I'm anaemic and have a heart condition, please don't write it off just as the aftermath of an infection like I did initially, go and get it checked out. I ended up in a&e

Sounds awful @TheCurious0range, I did have low folate & iron about 5 months ago was put on tablets for this for 3 months and then repeat bloods showed all good so taken off the tablets, so it could be this again. Thanks I will definitely get it checked out

Just to say it could be a few things but see your GP. I found out recently my vertigo/repeat ear infections are actually migraines with auras! I had no idea that this was a thing but it can be part of them that is often under diagnosed by GPs and as you age they can become more frequent and connected to hormonal changes (I'm peri and get them monthly now, sadly accompanied by headaches). Migraines encompass more than we often think!

Thanks @FirstCuppahave to say i am feeling awful, sitting/standing is impossible I feel so nauseous and can't have the light on (focusing on my phone with one eye closed in the dark) I have a feeling of pressure in my left ear too.
Will hopefully get it checked out tomorrow

Yes, see those are what I get with the migraines. Honestly had no clue that's what they were until I got headaches with them. Worth thinking about asking if it could be an aura migraine when you see GP - esp if it's near your time of the month as it could be hormonal. This site is quite useful to see if you think you have the symptoms - I have a cross of 2 https://www.nationalmigrainecentre.org.uk/understanding-migraine/types-of-migraine-and-headache/

Thanks @FirstCuppai got a GP appointment yesterday and I have vertigo caused by fluid in both my ears the vertigo was so bad he gave me an injection and put me on Stemtil and then Serc for the next 2 weeks. I've mainly slept the last few days but thankfully the nauseous feeling and vomiting has stopped still have a flighty feeling in the top of my head hoping that will clear in the next few days. Jeez its a horrible feeling.

Oh no, that sounds horrid! Rest up and don't rush the recovery! I'd get a deliveroo as a treat when your tummy feels up to it and the hunger comes back.

I know it doesn't apply to you as this was fluid but I read yesterday that the inner ear has oestrogen receptors that can cause vertigo with hormonal changes and thought of you! I'm glad it was sinus related as at least it's not a long-term thing.

Thanks @FirstCuppa definitely planing on a food treat tonight as I am absolutely ravanis with not eating this last few days. Definitely a good improvement on my balance but still wouldn't be confident of driving. Thats actually something I have been thinking about, a friend of mine said her sinus and inner ear/balance problems started just before her menopause symptoms all started to really kick in, so that is something im going to keep an eye on i suspect I am very much peri. Thanks for the support really appreciated it
