If a man finds out he has a child when the child is 18+ can a claim be put in for backdated CM ? I’m pretty sure this is not possible ? But was just wondering.

Why would a person do this? If they were “found” beofre child is 18 absolutely pay but after - will it become a thing that James pays CMS for Jack who is 38

This is what I thought ? But wanted to double check as it seems a grey area especially if over 18 but still in non advanced education so I can’t find out for definite

There's no such thing as back dated CMS. Liability starts the day your claim becomes active.

Thanks. We are now getting talk of ‘moral obligation’ (which is a bit rich given the circumstances and I can’t say too much as its possibly identifying)
