If you are NOT well off, how much do you spend on:

(2 x dc in primary school, later years)
School uniform?
Out of school clothes
Coat
Shoes/trainers/wellies/crocs etc

Your own clothes (thinking basic, shop at M&S, supermarkets, Next)
Office wear.
Your toiletries, skin care, make up. Again, pretty low end.
Hair - for you.

I am not, not well off. I’ll start there.

School uniform - I could get by on £200 a year I think. Minimal branded items, Asda or matalan for basics, reduced number of items.

out of school clothes - 3 pairs of joggers, pair of jeans, 3 t shirts, 3 long sleeved tops, 2 jumpers, 3 pairs of shorts, £100, maybe less with bits on vinted
coat - summer jacket £8 on vinted, winter coat last years still fits so £0 this year, £30 last year
Shoes - supermarket £50 for all, trainers from vinted maybe?

own clothes - vinted and next, could spend £150 a year
office wear, £19.50 m&s trousers x 2, vinted for tops and jumpers or Temu £75
toiletries £100 a year, Aldi dupes for skincare, m&s for big bottles of shower gel / shampoo / conditioner at £4 each, they last for ages and ages. Make up, use boots points and buy collection or whatever brand is cheapest, mascara Lancôme as a gift?
hair £50, I have it cut once a year.

So I tend to budget monthly for things per child.
£10-15 for primary school uniform (this does not include school shoes though).
£15-20 for after-school clothes (I get a lot in the sales from next, sainsburies and h&m. This includes winter and summer coats etc).
£15-20 on shoes. I tend to get sketchers as I find they last absolutely ages.

Toiletries I am not sure as it comes out of our weekly shop. I don't wear make up though.

i don't really budget for clothes for myself. It's just what money I have spare and only really to replace essentials as and when needed.

My hair is around £80-100 per month as I have highlights that need maintaining. Then I pay around £40 per month on a home eye lash kit.
