So after yet another weekend of over indulgence. And another 1lb gained last week after losing a stone , I've well and truly slipped off the track.

I've decided that maybe weighing the food form portion control may be a way forward . I've downloaded an app with a free trial to log what I consume. My downfall is portions and sweet things. I think if I log what I eat correctly this may help?
Do I get some low fat meals to kick start me as when I say portion control it's a huge issue.

Any tips at all.
I've heard green tea helps with bloating. I'm not sure I'll like it but happy to try . Is there a way to make it more palatable ? Lemon slices ?

I'm just doing an online grocery order for tomorrow so any suggestions would be fab

I hear you!!
I have no advice because I have failed! But you're not alone! I have started protein shakes in the morning - but that doesn't reduce the amount I eat later in the day so this week I'm going to try the opposite - fruit and maybe eggs in the morning and then protein shake in the afternoon. I want to have the shake because I'm putting all the vitamins in. (Spatone, collagen, maca, physllium, flax, probiotics, tran resveratol. ) In the vain hope something makes me feel better!

Remember that if you put on 1,lb it's not necessarily 1lb of fat. Don't let it dishearten you. Best to take an average weight over the week as weight fluctuates daily.

I have gained over 25 lb in a year because of bastard Paxil/Seroxat (the only SSRI that seems to do the job for my long-standing anxiety/depression) and am now firmly in the 'overweight' BMI category. At the start of September, in desperation, I started following a 12 hours on/12 hours off intermittent fasting schedule. I don't eat after 8 pm (do have a glass of wine though) and then eat breakfast at 8 am. During the day I try to make healthy choices and watch my portions. I have lost 5 lb this month, which is a great start (only 35 left to go...). I didn't fully realize the impact that my evening eating was having, but having that solid cut-off point has been really helpful, as I focus on it as the only rule I have to follow. Making healthier choices during the day is becoming easier as I begin to see weight loss results. I may weigh myself more than once a week, but only note down each Friday morning's result (I picked Fridays so I don't have to contend with the transient weekend weight gain if I have loosened the reins a little). The schedule barely feels like fasting as most of the time is spent asleep.

Mine’s similar to yours, @realsavagelike, but earlier - I have breakfast around 6am, main meal about 12, snack around 4pm & nothing after that & it’s really made a difference. Good on you for losing the 5lb.

Thanks! Evenings were always my worst for undoing any good work I'd managed during the day, so seems to be really helping. Once I've lost a few lbs, I always find it motivates me to keep going. I keep picturing all the clothes I have that I love, but can't currently wear, and have to keep cycling through the same few uninspired but forgiving outfits that currently fit me!
