I've seen a few simple stocking fillers on.the site, nothing fancy, keyring, little tree hangers etc. Cheapy bits. So Not expecting high quality etc. But so many bad stories I read.

Do you think things like this are OK? Is it a secure site to order on?

It’s a shite site that mines your information, sells crap that ends up in landfill, made by workers in slavery.

I've bought a couple of things before, it is generally bad quality and tat.
Be careful and read the listing's fully - quite often things are a lot smaller than the picture , and sometimes nothing like the picture.
I bought some reusable mop heads but when they were delivered they were tiny and unusable. I bought some wooden nutcracker decorations that were just 2D printed on thin plywood .

The only thing which I was pleased with , was scrapbooking and craft supplies, and a tupperwere box. I haven't ordered again though, its just too risky and disappointing.

I like their price different policy. After ordering check in daily to see if the price has changed and they’ll refund it as credit to your account which doesn’t expire.

a lot of the stuff is exactly the same that’s on Amazon. They do returns and often return less refunds too.

I love Temu. Brought lots of clothes of it for me and dd8

garden furniture
hoover
Halloween stuff
Xmas pressies
clothes
shoes
towels
dress for a wedding
perfume
hair stuff
stitch stuff
cabybara stuff

its easy to return stuff if clothes don’t fit and often they say keep and don’t refund and refund you

It doesn’t make its money by selling things for pennies, it makes its money by collecting your data.

A no from me then!

Cheap Chinese tat, (and pricey Chinese tat)

As mentioned above read the whole listing, including browsing down for more details / specifications

Make sure that you check if an item has options / quantities as there may be a £1 item with options of £5 £10 and you thought you were buying the £10 thing for £1
(you would see the total going into the basket)

It’s fine if you know what to expect, and you could be paying more elsewhere for the same
items getting drop shipped under another trading name

Don’t touch it with a barge pole for something that has safety implications

Cheap nic-naks can be OK, but beware of buying gifts that are likely to be next weeks landfill

Note that once you have ordered keep going into each of your orders looking for ‘price adjustment’. That will give you some refund credit if the item has since dropped in price.
But ignore the big credit offers with ££s of discount vouchers - you have to spend £££s to claim your discounts

When your parcel arrives take a photo, and then check the items for damage, missing parts wed - you can then claim back on it. (With photos etc) 99% of the time it’s a no quibble refund

MrsKeats · 27/09/2025 21:51

Yes my advice is don’t order rubbish from an unethical site.

Bobiverse · 27/09/2025 22:04

Just don’t. Don’t buy utter shite made using what is essentially, slave labour. Have better morals when it comes to your shopping. Maybe just try buying less, good quality things you can afford instead of plastic shite for your kids made in a sweat shop.

Ugh. It’s not fine. There is nothing fine about it. And I’m sure you could easily live without every item you’ve bought from them.

FourIsNewSix · 27/09/2025 22:11

I kind of understand if someone buys something for themselves.

However a gift from Temu is a big no and worse than no gift at all.

Portakalkedi · 28/09/2025 09:13

I recently used it for the first time, mostly for sewing items and a few household items (sink strainer, milk frother, silicone freezer trays etc), was fine, very quick, excellent refund policy re damaged item. I use a non personal email for stuff like this, paid via PayPal. Re data mining, seems every UK company I've ever bought from flogs my data immediately, so not sure I see any difference there.
