Finger protection for a biting baby?

Baby is no longer breast fed, is 11 months and teething. Gets a lot of comfort from sucking on my finger, but is now chomping down. Has never had a dummy, doesn’t want a Teether. So wondering if like the baby finger tooth brushes, there is something like that I can use that will protect me slightly when he is distraught and only wants to eat my finger? And won’t sleep otherwise?
Amazon came up with some things but don’t want some terrible plastic thing I don’t know about from China.

Not really sure but I would think that the majority of anything plastic ,even in accessories for baby such as a teether, pacifier, neoprene gloves, finger cot, would originate from somewhere else?

I hate to break this to you but pretty much any piece of plastic, no matter how fancy the brand, is made in China.

Just buy some teething toys.

Has a whole range of teething toys which rejects. Fridge ones/water/wooden/palstic.

i know most stuff is made in china, but if a decommunised uk brand will have gone through testing. Something sold on temu won’t have. My filter is of the brand is sold in John Lewis or mamas and papas then I’m happy to buy from it. Not worth the risk

Have you tried giving him a cold carrot (obviously not when he’s going to sleep).
Otherwise, you could try pushing on his gums with your finger to give him some relief before sleeping.
Or calpol.

I am not sure letting the baby bite your finger to soothe itself to sleep is a workable solution long term. Even if you manage to find something to protect your finger that you are happy with ethically and that the baby still likes biting, it will do your head in after a while surely, and your back, having to bend over the cot like that.

I would just keep trying the baby with a load of other stuff (plushies, comforters etc) until they find something else that soothes them, that they are happy to chomp on.

After all, your finger with a finger guard on it won't have the same texture as your actual finger anyway, so the baby may as well be chewing on something else - which will also be more convenient and less painful for you.

If you don't like that suggestion, I would just find some thick gloves that don't shed fibers and wear those.

But seriously, something else for the baby to chew on is better. You can hold it in your hand to start with, if part of the thing is your comforting presence leaning over them. Then as they start to gain comfort from the object itself, slowly withdraw. All a natural and healthy journey towards growing independence and learning to self soothe.....
