How to handle ADHD and friends over

My DS is 12, has asd and pretty severe ADHD
he won't take medication he doesn't like how it makes him feel- I've tried, we've tried so many different types and doses and I just can't get him to regularly take it.
when he goes to the park or has a friend over he is so so wild and just can't calm down,
I obviously don't want him to not see his friends especially as he is in a Sen school he doesn't have a lot of friends as it's such a small school. So I do want to encourage him socially.
but yesterday he had a friend over and he was just unmanageable completely, even when his friend was trying to sit and do Lego DS was just all over the place running around shouting screaming etc to the point it gets dangerous with smashing and crashing into things jumping up and down on the sofa arms etc, I can't seem i even get through to him to get him to even really hear me. Usually at home by himself he is quite chilled out (well there's jumping and bouncing still but more controlled) but it seems to just really hype him up when he has company (or even when I have people over or relatives visit etc) I'm at a loss how to handle this or how to help him manage his behaviour in these situations

I don't really have practical advice buuut - find a spin chair, indoor soft play equipment and a swing chair (look on Amazon for a a frame chair) with a yoga sling and a spin karibbeana (?) gives a place to say - you go and do that just for 5 mins. The spin chair especially seems to help. (I mean - don't try it as an adult because it'll make you vomit but they seem to like it)
I'd like to see others suggestions too as might be useful!
Xx
