Is it still blackberry picking season?

Can anyone who’s closer to brambles than me tell me if it’s worth taking the kids out blackberry picking this weekend?

We’re in London and would have to drive to Essex or Kent so looking for some intell before we go!

It was till old Michaelmas when I was small, which was 11th October- before they messed around with the calenders, Julian or Gregory and, whichever way it went.

Thry are pretty much over though - long, hot summer.

It's a bumper Berry year, the hedges are red where there's hawthorn, they're so heavy with it. Could be a hard winter, mind.
