Disappointing “walking pad”

I bought a walking pad. Or what I thought was a walking pad. I think it’s just a treadmill. Albeit a small one. Walking pads are supposed to be light and moveable, easily slide it away under the furniture kind of things. This thing weighs a fucking tonne and I can barely move it anywhere. My own fault. I must have not researched it properly.

The real issue I have with it though, is the noise. It has to go upstairs. There is nowhere for this behemoth to go downstairs. But if I walk briskly on it, the noise downstairs is horrific and I’m genuinely worried I’m doing some structural damage. (I’m not that fat by the way!!)

I bought shock absorbing pads. It has made no difference.

i really thought this was the answer to my lack of time to exercise issue but of course i was wrong.

does anyone have any suggestions?

Blimey! I'm guessing it's purely mechanical rather than being able to adjust the speed?

Thanks for the insight as I have tinkered with the idea of getting one.

Don’t be discouraged! I have a walking pad from Amazon and it’s completely opposite story of OPs experience, bloody love mine, it’s been a game changer.

Sorry to hear this, is it too late to return it? I am planning to buy one and like you envisaged it being quietish and portable. Which model do you have?

@TheHappyBiscuitB sounds more promising, which make/model you you have please?

I had this kind of experience with the ‘Walkpad’ brand, one of the cheaper ones, then it broke after 3 uses! Got a refund. If it hadn’t broken don’t think I would have been able to.

Ooh I don’t know how to post links on here, but if you type in Amazon - Dskeuzeew Walking Pad Treadmill with Incline, 8KM/H
, it’s the first result that comes up.

I had it for over a year now, works brilliant and never had any issues, also came with a small oil bottle for the belt which I used once so far. It’s quiet! It’s not super light and you wouldn’t really expect it to be but it’s light enough to pick it up and it’s has wheels to wheel it wherever you want.

I love mine, use it all the time. It’s upstairs too and not that noisy. Sell that one and get a new one.

Surreyblah · 20/09/2025 07:46

How noisily is it @TheHappyBiscuitB ?

YouCantParkThere · 20/09/2025 08:02

No you can adjust the speed on it. The noise is just the vibrations/shock from me walking on the thing

I have one of these and use it in the living room to walk while I watch tv when it’s raining. The noise from stepping on it is a bit loud so I turn up the volume on the tv.
Mine is a CitySports one off Amazon and it’s great otherwise.
Perhaps sell yours and buy a different model?
