If you don't find anyone on here, look on Reddit.

I'm ACA, well FCA actually as I'm soooooo old

All the best! Keep at it!

Financeisfun · 18/09/2025 05:58

I did ACCA. How can I help?

UnsureAtTimes · 18/09/2025 06:38

It’s really tricky studying around work and other commitments. But it’s worth it to be qualified and have a better career and earning potential. Are you feeling demotivated as you have failed an exam/exams? Can you reach out to your college for support?

TrimayrAcademy · 18/09/2025 06:40

I’m studying CIMA so not exactly the same but very similar.

It is hard going studying around work but keep ploughing in, it really will be worth it in the end!

How can I help? Which papers have you got left? How are you studying - weekday, evenings, online, classroom, distance learning?

justnottinghill · 18/09/2025 06:42

I’m ACA, 31 so qualified 7 years ago. One thing I will say: I’m leaving my job because the people are toxic (industry) and I had multiple interviews within a day. The job market isn’t great but all these roles were easy to find and it was a relief. The salary for these jobs is £85k-£100k. All fully remote.

it’s a brilliant qualification!

Passthecake30 · 18/09/2025 06:49

I’m ACCA (well FCCA, studied years ago). It was a slog, I went to college in a Saturday on top of a FT job. Definitely worth getting an accountancy qualification.

20.49 post. Was it after evening class blues @RealReginaPhalange ?

SugarPlumpFairyCakes · 18/09/2025 17:34

How intellectually demanding is it? I’m scared to try in case I reveal myself to be a total plank!

It's the equivalent of a master's degree usually studied over 3 years. There are still L7 apprenticeships available until January for graduates. If you start with the first 4 papers and ease yourself in you can get a L4 qualification.

Oh guys wow thank you for replying!

@Numbersaremything spot on😂 i have 7 exemptions (through uni year ago, then I registered over 10 yrs ago, had few attempts, failed, life happened and wasnt in a place to start again. Thank god they lifted 10yrs restriction) i have 6 left and doing taxation at the moment. Exam booked for december. Using on demand online lectures. Not doing as good as i wish! I think i get it, I understand, make my notes, try to test myself and bang…i do not get it as I thought!

@Passthecake30 @TrimayrAcademy @UnsureAtTimes @Financeisfun @Navigatinglife100 thank you! I just dont know if all the time and effort i am trying to put in will be worth it. I have years of experience in retail/manufacturing companies (not interested in practice at all) as finance/accounts assistant. Even if i pass them all, i still wont have any experience in those “higher” paying duties, how easy would be to find something then? i dont have big expectations! dont dream of running a big team and be a finance director, something in the middle where i can have £40-£45k per year and not stress every single day at work. I am also not british, English is not my first language, i truly think it is holding me back.

@justnottinghill thank you! Its nice to hear how many options you have after qualifying.

i think i am just worried i will be stuck and wont progress much if i pass exams, and i am worried i will get stuck and pushed out with age without getting them as well, i am probably not making any sense😂

Dropped you a private message

UnsureAtTimes · 18/09/2025 22:18

It is difficult if you have exemptions as you need that knowledge for the later papers but you’ve often forgotten it.
Should be some resources in your course to help you with the assumed knowledge.
If you have the option to email tutors to ask for help then I recommend doing that.
Remember you can get half wrong and still pass and getting things wrong now will mean you learn from it and hopefully get it right in December.
Doing the exams in not your first language is very difficult but many people do it.
