In the north you don’t wear a coat to go clubbing. Even when it’s 2 below zero.

WertieBooster · 17/09/2025 22:43

Disclaimer: I HAVE to wear a coat. I feel the cold. But I almost admire the people who can convince themselves that they’re not.

Maybe if they'd stop allowing all the condos....
it takes just as long driving across NV as Bby to Kits along 12th. 🙄

Southerners mind their own business. Love sitting in stony silence on the tube.

Yeo! The only exception I can think of is London 2012. If you were wearing Olympics accreditation, people wanted to talk to you, even on the tube.

Londoners are friendly really but it doesn't seem that way. Something needs to happen to break the ice. Otherwise I think people are wary of encroaching on somebody else's personal space (physical or mental) because there is so little of it among the hoards of people:

We have Booths in the north. Not in the south

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 18/09/2025 05:49

Its hot and tropical in the North and they have crocs. Its cooler in the south with no crocs but the water is freezing. I live in the West where the climate is Mediterranean and the water is lovely and croc free (although we all have sharks).

WhiteRosesAndThistles · 18/09/2025 06:26

I went to London this year, as a Northerner I expected to be greeted with pitchforks and cries of 'burn the witch'! I couldn't have been more surprised by how friendly everyone one was.
I must say though, if you can't get gravy on your chips it isn't somewhere I could live 😉

Wegovy2026 · 18/09/2025 06:38

When I visit my friends in the South (London and posh bits of Surrey) the rats I see there are water rats (according to them) and not the same as the horrible rats we have up North 😂 They look the same to me and all the traps I see dotted around the area are the same.

BadActingParsley · 18/09/2025 08:49

No head on your pint in the south, you’d send the flat looking insipid pints back in the north.

PegDope · 18/09/2025 08:52

Tayto in the south are faaaarrrrrrr superior to Tayto in the north.

PestoHoliday · 18/09/2025 08:53

You can always get a pint of bitter in a pub in the north. This isn't true in the south.
