Have honestly heard it all... stranger parked on driveway!

Just popped over to visit my Mum's. She said a car was parked on her driveway that she didn't recognise. She went out and the driver (a young woman) got out. My Mum asked what she was doing and she just said 'Oh I didn't want to park it on the road so I parked it here'.

Honestly heard it all now!

I hope she was directed to move it.

Swiftly! I wonder how often she's done it before.

I would've had to give her a very long lecture as well

What is with these people?

Allswellandgood · 16/09/2025 20:54

Your DM was lucky they were still in the car!
Some people, eh? What a nerve.

Had similar on mine a few weeks ago—I saw her get out and let her dog relieve itself in my neighbour’s garden. I went out and asked her if she was lost. She said she was waiting for her friend, who lives down the road. I told her that this was my drive, and perhaps she should park in the friend’s drive, or on the street. She said that she “was only trying to stay here, out of everyone’s way.” I asked her to leave. She said to me in a condescending/sickly sweet voice, “Have a nice day,” as if so was some unhinged madwoman.

Crikey @CowTown what a brass nerve she had !
Did you tell her she wasn't 'staying out of everyone's way' as she was plainly in your way?

'Out of everyone's way'... except yours. 😏The nerve.

If she's left her car in your mum's drive, please park across and then leave and have your mum deny knowledge, or say, 'oh my daughter must have thought that's my friend Julie's car in the driveway... Julie's away for a fortnight and said she could use the driveway, my daughters at work for 12hr shift'....

I did….her reaction was as if I was unstable—why wouldn’t using my drive to stay out of everyone’s way be reasonable?

This. Just block the person in and ignore the door for a while! It’s beyond cheeky and they completely deserve the inconvenience

Someone did that on my mum's drive once, and when she asked her to move, the driver got all huffy. The entitlement of some people.

Love it. Luckily she moved this time.
