I literally cannot get over how anyone let this happen!! That poor bloke doesn't stand a chance.

I think it's funny.

FusionChefGeoff · 16/09/2025 18:15

love that - very funny 🤣

OhMyGiddyAnt · 16/09/2025 18:16

It made me laugh. It’s just a silly joke.

LeatherJacketWedding · 16/09/2025 18:17

Even if you don’t find a joke particularly funny, the ability to still recognise it as a joke is a marker of intellect. A very low marker to be honest, but I still find myself astounded by some people’s complete inability to not take everything literally. I honestly wonder how some people get through life…

GlastoNinja · 16/09/2025 18:17

I don’t think it’s particularly funny but it’s very clearly a joke and quite a common one these days.

(for me it’s similar soh to ‘live, laugh, love’ and ‘wine o’clock’ )

3pears · 16/09/2025 18:18

It’s a joke and quite a well known one. People put it on invites sometimes

holachicatita · 16/09/2025 18:20

I've never seen this before but I think it's funny. And the groom obviously approved it and thought so too!

Complet · 16/09/2025 18:26

I’m probably the most anti-gender stereotype person I know, but even I can’t get worked up about this. And I’m one of those that has an annual huff when people write ‘Mr and Mrs Husbandsurname’ on our Christmas card despite it not being my name.

Just looks like an in-joke by the couple. Or maybe she planned the whole day with little to no input from him, so it is literally her day he is featuring in.

I thought Bridezilla behaviour meant it has impact on the guests (having to wear a certain thing, not post photos, spend hundreds on a room in the hotel). I can’t see how this affects the guests at all?

What about the other way around? RICHARD'S WEDDING!!! Featuring Adele. And if you'd be that Adele and it's your wedding. Also funny? If not, why not?

Definitely funny if Richard has got obsessed about everything being perfect and makes unreasonable demands of the bridal party and guests. No doubt that can happen but it's more often the bride who does this, including presumably Rebecca.

SwayingInTime · 16/09/2025 18:31

I think it's funny too

bugalugs45 · 16/09/2025 18:32

Not read the whole thread , so may have been pointed out already , but I’m sure it’s a joke , originally used on an episode of friends but can’t remember who’s

BMW6 · 16/09/2025 18:42

I think it's really funny and takes the piss out of Rebecca!

Like the recent Peppa Pig thread. It's quite obviously a joke thread, but the amount of people who took that seriously is hilarious in itself. Even after it had been pointed out numerous times, the angry serious offended replies continued.

I'm frequently amazed how so many people don"t get basic and obvious humour. I have a couple of in-laws like this, and it's painful sometimes.

They both came to a comedy club with us once, as they didn't want to be left out of an outing. But one spent the whole gig tutting, huffing, shaking her head constantly chuntering "oh, well that's not on...oh, that's not nice....oh, I'm not having that...nope, I don't agree" While the other sat staring blankly, looking around wondering why people were laughing and saying "I just don't get comedy"

Isn't life totally joyless without comedy, humour and seeing the lighthearted side of life?

We must have the same MIL 🤣 it can be very draining when jokes fall flat. She’s had 25 years to get used to me so she usually just says (after a long, blank pause) ‘oh you’re being silly’ but if a stranger attempts a humorous interaction (like a friendly waiter for example) it goes totally over her head, embarrasses everyone and I just want the ground to swallow me!

Seeyouincourtkeith · 16/09/2025 19:52

Love it.
