Or your work colleague as they are currently picking up the slack due to the following.

A person starts a new job in January of this year. In Feburary they take some time off as sick leave due to a bad back. They are still off on SL with the supposed bad back and HR appear to be content with this.

However, every single weekend this person posts social media videos of them and their family at their local karaoke club. They are clearly seen on stage singing, dancing and jumping around to the music......every weekend.

How are they managing with no pay?

They are in LA housing and have extra benefits coming into the family purse due to a child with disabilities.

There will be a lot going on in the background.
The difficulty will be that at the moment this is one absence, albeit a long one.
However if you wanted to share the photos you have with their employer that’s up to you! An email to the school office for example…..

I have an NHS colleague like this - she worked a full 10 weeks last year. Over the past 2 years she has worked around 3 months. She 100% knows how the play the sickness policy and goes off with 'work related stress'. She didn't look that stressed when I saw her recently in the local garden centre. Boils my blood.

Does it impact you negatively in any way? No, it doesn't.

It is an issue between the individual and his employer.

Nothing to do with you whatsoever.

I agree either way this, it’s between the employee, employer, and whoever is signing them off.

I don’t think their life necessarily sounds like something to be envious of, and you clearly don’t like them so for your own sake distance yourself do you don’t need to hear about it all anymore.

I don't agree actually. We get it at work where you have a no show layabout who you can never rely on turning up. The amount of pressure this puts on the whole team is unbearable and you always get the undercurrents of whisperings that causes a bad feeling throughout.

I hate this attitude. Just because it doesn't affect the poster in particular doesn't mean it doesn't affect other people. My department is on its knees because of the absence of a staff member and the people who are most affected are the poor kids that she is supposed to be teaching. They're getting cover lesson after cover lesson because getting decent supply staff is not easy. We cannot employ someone else unless she leaves.

Meanwhile, she's gadding about all over the place posting about what a lovely time she's having. It's so wrong.

How have you come to the conclusion that I don't like them?

I don't agree with the way they are conducting themselves work wise but I've never stated that I don't like him. You've come to that conclusion all by yourself.

Well if the op is working and paying tax they will be contributing towards this person’s sick pay.
I can never understand the thinking on MN that people live totally independent lives and what they do has no impact whatsoever on others.

Some nonsensical replies to my initial post...

The OP knows nothing about what is happening between this person & their employer. She does not work for the company and therefore has no stake into the situation.

Also, being a tax payer isn't a green light to give yourself the right to snoop into other people's lives.

Leave this to the employer, the individual's GP and the bodies that oversee benefits.

They have all the facts and it is their responsibility to decide whether someone is taking the piss or not.

Edited

Of course you are absolutely entitled to your opinion but I feel that it is a massive piss take. If this person claims to be riddled with painful back issues yet is fit enough to be jumping about on stage every weekend they should be fit enought to be doing their job and if they feel they aren't up to it then they need to be honest with their HR department and quit this job to allow someone else to take the position. They have been off for months not just a few weeks or so.

I know this person well, I have known him for 35 years. He knows how to play the system well, he has form for it.
