Just that really 😂

Need inspiration- totally flummoxed

A birthday to clarify. I don’t know what I want - I have nothing I need either

A present for me, have edited my post to clarify

I’d book a massage (and this would pay just 50% towards the cost!)

hattie43 · 16/09/2025 08:38

A small Lego a good book and my body weight in chocolate .

Bjorkdidit · 16/09/2025 08:45

I'd wait until I thought of something I wanted.

Otherwise, your just buying for the sake of it and when you do want something, you might not have the money.

But recently I've spent that sort of money on a return flight to Gdansk for a day out, train tickets to London to see a show, a set of walking gudebooks, some paints and brushes, new lounge wear and gin and fancy tonic.

I spend almost nothing on grooming and don't generally buy coffee or lunch unless part of a day out, so I generally have a slightly more expensive days out a few times a year rather than lots of little day to day spends.

ETA, Lego, I'm currently lusting after the maple tree, which is £42.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 16/09/2025 08:48

Books or theatre ticket or meal. Or new underwear actually (I've lost weight, have the basics but would like something nicer).

But as per PP I'd wait until I knew what I wanted, rather than spend for the sake of it.

A nice massage or a facial for me

Crucible · 16/09/2025 09:03

A full pedicure and a pile of interior design magazines.

Needmorelego · 16/09/2025 09:08

There was a similar thread the other day.
I think I said...
A book that's just been released that I want to read (£20).
The DVD of The Gilded Age be because want to watch it but I don't have the streaming site it's on (£15 for season 1 and 2 in HMV).
So that leaves £15..... probably some Lego.

Overthebow · 16/09/2025 09:08

I’d wait until there was more money then book a spa day with a massage, that’s what I usually get for my birthday.

blankcanvas3 · 16/09/2025 10:24

massage or some other kind of self care treat, facial, manicure etc

lifesabitchandthenyoudie · 16/09/2025 10:27

ooh, whiskey.

I have just treated myself to some nice new joggers, much more expensive than I would normally bother with but they are so luxurious I just had to have them!

CalzoneOnLegs · 16/09/2025 10:29

Towards a new pair of winter boots

Thanks @CalzoneOnLegs . I don't think I better subscribe to anything else because I forget what I am subscribed to 😂

TickTockBridget · 16/09/2025 10:51

A couple of really fragrant David Austin bare root roses
a ‘purge this midden!’ level car valet
8 large slabs of that good thick Lindt chocolate, not the the thin bars
a Lisa Eldridge eye shadow compact (or a LE lipstick and lip liner)
a new lampshade with gold lining for cosy autumn light
a Wren pen from Tom’s Studio

CalzoneOnLegs · 16/09/2025 10:53

@Needmorelego ahh, time for a ‘review’ then, there’s loads of good content on NOW it’s basically all the good stuff from Sky, Sky Atlantic is the best channel. I’ve started watching an adorable Canadian series about a dog and a detective Hudson and Rex the Dog is incredible.
im cancelling Amazon it’s nothing but utter rubbish on there. I had it free for a month, I would t pay for it

Needmorelego · 16/09/2025 11:06

@CalzoneOnLegs yeah I might check how much of Disney+ actually gets watched.

CalzoneOnLegs · 16/09/2025 11:22

@Needmorelego for me two paid for at once, plus the free ‘Normal’ TV channels is enough, I’ve installed quite a few other free ones as well like U which is actually quite good.

it’s surprising how much they can add up per month when you have 4 or 5 on the go

CalzoneOnLegs · 16/09/2025 11:22

@Dhama so sorry for the derail OP 🙈

What is the title of that detective show with the dog, please?

OP, what a pleasant, and useful, thread this is. I hope you get a lot of pleasure from your present.

Something I hanker for is a good solar powered ‘Rainbow Maker’. A double one is nearly your budget, a single one about half.

I would maybe get a single one, and some lipstick or a book, and also go to a nice cafe.

Whateverwillwedonow · 16/09/2025 11:36

A massage as it’s not something that I would spend my own money on but as a gift I would like it.

My beautician is doing a gorgeous hot stone massage for £45 at the moment and I really want to do it but am in saving mode.

ive just binge watched the gilded age while breastfeeding my newborn. It’s excellent!

wingingit1987 · 16/09/2025 11:37

Books, nice bubble bath and chocolate. Or a decent moisturiser for my face.

CalzoneOnLegs · 16/09/2025 11:48

@ScrollingLeaves its Hudson and Rex they are both very lovely ❤️ it’s like Lassie for adults 🙂 It’s based on a European show called Kommisar Rex, the training for the dog must have been intense it’s amazing what he does, very easy Autumn viewing

£50 budget, what are you buying?
