As it's wet and miserable in most places across the U.K., I'm wondering what your indoor temp is and if you've popped the heating on yet?

Mines sitting at around 21.8C so haven't needed to use it (yet!) And hoping we can hold of for at least another couple of weeks! 🤞🏻

Our windows are still open in our bedroom and on the latch everywhere else! I’ve been checking the temperature and the inside temp is between 18-21. Our heating is set to come on at 16.5°c so it’s not happened yet.

Gladysknightgottogetaholdofmyself · 14/09/2025 21:45

23 no need for heating on ,once it goes down to 19 put it on to bring it to 21.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 14/09/2025 21:46

The thermostat says 19.7 degrees The heating will kick in at 19…….

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 14/09/2025 21:47

19.1 inside here & heavy rain & wind outside.
I'm sat in my shorts & t shirt

However it was 21 inside late Friday night & I was really cold after coming in from seeing friends. I had to put a cardi on over my t shirt & was also wearing jeans.

Edited: to say no heating on yet

hattie43 · 14/09/2025 21:48

I flicked mine on this morning because it’s wet cold and miserable , set to 18 but switched itself off later . I bloomin hate being cold and the heating will be on as and when I want . Won’t enjoy the bills but I’ll be warm .

BlueWorkDay · 14/09/2025 21:49

Ours is set to 19'C - it hasn't come on automatically yet, it's been hovering between 19 and 20'C). But I turned it on just to check it was working this afternoon.

seenabeena · 14/09/2025 21:50

20c here inside up NorthEast way, have got washing in front of open fire coz gloomy outside 🙂

ThreePears · 14/09/2025 22:01

I'm all right with the temperature fairly low and I like fresh air, but we live in an open-plan house which enthusiastically generates cold draughts and there is not one single cosy corner downstairs anywhere. So the thermostat needs to be at around 22, but we do put it down to 19 at night.

emotionalsupportfluffysock · 14/09/2025 22:09

Thermostat is set to 22 degrees here. I'd prefer 23 but DH and the kids really start complaining when I do that. As it is I am in bed with a winter duvet and 4 blankets. Disclaimer- I do have health issues that mean I cant control my body temperature that well. When I get cold I stay cold and it's bloody painful to boot

MrsR87 · 14/09/2025 22:12

I’m in the Midlands. Currently sat in the living room and it’s 22.2C. All the bedrooms are between 20.5 and 22C. We’ve not had the heating on yet and can’t imagine we will need it for a good few weeks yet!

PumpkinSeasonOctober · 14/09/2025 22:26

It’s 19. I can’t justify putting the hearing on already because we’ve had a wet weekend. Midweek the sun was blazing late afternoon.

WhatMe123 · 14/09/2025 22:29

Ours dipped to 17 upstairs so blasted it for half an hour so the kids didn't get cold with their wet hair after their baths first time it's been on though

mamagogo1 · 14/09/2025 22:30

it’s 22 in my living room and 19 in my bedroom, I rarely put heating on before November, no need, have good insulation

Cadenza12 · 14/09/2025 22:30
  1. Stat is set at 20 and it's been on a couple of times today. It's still 17 outside according to Alexa.
NotPerfectlyAdverage · 14/09/2025 22:34

20.3 I'm already dreading having to use the heating. I was telling my kids that my parents?wasn't as well off as we are at their age and we had a old victorian single glazed but our house was never cold.

Ours is cold in deep winted but to be fair we have flushed it, put cleaner a now a magnet so let's prat that has helped a bit

ViciousCurrentBun · 15/09/2025 00:31

19.7 it would come on if below at 18 but at this time of night it’s a low of 10 degree as a frost setting

Whokilledrogerrabit · 15/09/2025 14:10

Interesting to see everyone’s thoughts on this! Ours is still around to 22c mark. I’m in a jumper today but not even tempted to put it on. Hope it stays like this for a while longer. 🤞🏻

Hmmmmwineandchocs · 15/09/2025 14:33

Mine is 17.5, tempted with heating but making do with jumpers for now

AllrightNowBaby · 15/09/2025 14:43

Felt chilly this morning checked temp 18 so heating on at 20 and it’s very pleasant now.
I refuse to be cold and miserable in my own home.

ExquisitelyDecorating · 15/09/2025 14:50

We do put on jumpers etc but are not hardline about keeping it off till a certain date. So our thermostat is set to 18C morning and evening (will override that in the evenings sometimes if it doesn't feel warm enough), 16 during the day (we're normally all out or busy) and 13 overnight. It clicked on for the first time yesterday morning in the 18C timeslot. It's 19 now.

BaronessEllarawrosaurus · 15/09/2025 14:53

18.5 inside, 12 outside but the damp weather makes the house feel cooler so im in a thick jumper. Heating won't come on till it drops below 15 inside then I'll readjust the temperature to 18

seratoninmoonbeams · 15/09/2025 16:37

We were at about 21 yesterday evening which I find a bit chilly when I’m sat around watching tv. Honestly the best thing I’ve bought in years is my electric throw. Put the heating on much less now. I also find I don’t feel like nodding off because it’s warm with the blanket but the room is cooler. Winner winner.

Tbh though we don’t have the heating on much anyway even though I do get chilly. I’ll always layer up first and use blankets. I also never have bedroom heating on as we all like nice, cool bedrooms with the windows on the catch all year round.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 15/09/2025 17:48

We’re school, don’t have temp gauges. This time of year it fo s on when needed which it has been for about an hour in the evenings. I hate the dryness though so try to limit it.
