What food and drink would you take for a two night self catering honeymoon?

We’re going somewhere very secluded and although there is a pub not too far away we kind of want to hide away and make the most of being on our own! I do also want a break from cooking though!

There’s a pizza oven, fire pit with bbq grill and usual kitchen cooking facilities. At the moment my plan is:
Stuff for a cooked breakfast
Stuff for a continental breakfast
Deli bits and nice bread for lunches
pizza for one night
Maybe a Charlie bighams or cook type ready meal for the other night
Some chocolates/nuts/fruit to snack on
Wedding cake

Any other or better ideas?

Oh for goodness sake! We chose the destination together, we have looked round it before booking and it is very luxurious and a little slice of very private and hidden away heaven which is exactly what WE want. We’re going away next summer for a belated honeymoon but this is perfect for little break of just the two of us right after the wedding.

Did you have any food suggestions for us?

Ignore the naysayers.

And congratulations 💐

Thank you! Really looking forward to it!

We had this sort of honeymoon many years ago- in the middle of nowhere in a luxury barn conversion. Nearest shop was a 20 min drive away so we got a Sainsburys delivery at home just before we set off- loaded it all straight into the car boot and off we went. Took loads of booze and 'luxury' food. Took fillet steaks for one meal and ready made sides so all it took was 5 mins to cook the steak and the oven did the rest. I also bought a proper 'posh' box of chocolates - we were pretty skint and young and I thought it the height of decadence to have a box of Belgian chocolates to eat just because. Hope you have the best time it's a great memory for me and now I'm thinking we should do it again for our upcoming anniversary 😍

For only 2 nights, I’d be happy with crisps and wine 😂.

But - we’ve just been away for a week and did an Ocado order, which included Charlie Bigham lasagne and fish pie. Both were delicious.

This all sounds rather bizarre. Who wants to eat things "to pick at" for dinner in real life? Most of the suggestions are stuff we eat day to day (but not things to "pick at" for dinner).

Get the pub to deliver food for you or if you can't then get an Ocado delivery sent to you with ready meals. It's not exotic but you need to eat properly.

A platter of cold meat, cheese, olives, great bread, houmous, etc would be a huge treat here.
What about going retro with a fondue @Aberdgiibeh

Champagne, Take out.

I'd not bother with bacon/sausage style cooked breakfast, instead I'd do smoked salmon with poached or scrambled eggs, or Parma ham with melon or even better with figs (in season now).

For dinner I'd do things like seafood platter with dressed crab & prawns etc.
Or something that cooked quickly, like steak stroganoff with fresh tagliatelle, or seared scallops on wilted bitter greens, or prepared moules with frites or crusty bread Keep the pudding simple....raspberries with Greek yoghurt & honey, or strawberries with chocolate ganache.

Cheeses, pâté, charcuterie for lunch with fruit for pudding.

Take champagne and or Prosecco, with orange juice for Buck's Fizz or peach pulp for Bellinis, and fruit liqueur or two for Kir Royale style aperos. Take some ready made cocktails like Brandy Alexander to end dinner.
