Any job in the world…what would you choose?

If you had to have a job, but it could be any job in the world…what would you pick? Your absolute dream job. Assume you had the skills to do it.

Mine is definitely pathologist. I think it would be amazing to be able to help people without having to talk to them.

Conversely, I’d hate to do a job that involved talking to people. Teacher. GP. Diplomat. All fill me with a sense of dread

I love my job but if I had to choose another it would be travel journalism/blogger. Similar to Jane McDonald staying in lush hotels and cruise ships. 🥰

I’d love to love my job. I’m currently in the process of changing career after 22 years at the age of 48. Those that love their jobs, what are they out of interest?

My whole heart is in art. I'd love to be a talented artist and just do that all day.
As it is I have zero talent. I can't even draw an authentic stick man. As it is I have two science degrees and work in that field. A field that although lucrative salary wise makes my heart grow colder by the year.
My grandmother my mum and my DS are all talented artists, grandma RIP back in the 80's.
It seems unfair somehow.
Im going to learn specialist book binding when I retire. It's the next best thing.

Depends if you can pick your dream salary with your dream job. If I can then I'd open an arts, culture and heritage hub in my local town with a theatre, exhibition space, lots of rehearsal rooms and give free space to community initiatives. I'd offer free drama lessons to kids in the community and give away space to the local am dram groups and host lots of creative adult classes. Really be a proactive force for good in the area.

If I couldn't get the magic money tree to pay for all then I'd be the ceo of the company I work for. Some CEOs, lots of pressure etc - this guy, does nothing except show up at presentations and take credit (trust me I know) and is paid millions for the privilege. Granddad's company. Don't hate the player, hate the game, I'd take that job anyday lol.

Spy. As a middle aged woman I'd be perfect since I'm completely invisible!

In a magic wand world where I could be zapped into musical talent, Rock Star.

Failing that, nonfiction writer.

Something to do with family history research - heir hunter as PP says or researcher for Who Do You Think You Are

Either a successful author or a coroner.

I am a social worker now but have always been interested in the law and investigative work. Coroner seems a good balance between law and investigation but also people skills.

though on the other hand I can see the attraction of being a pathologist as OP said and not having to talk to living people sometimes.

Wildlife photographer. Travel the world, camp out in beautiful places, and capture animals in their natural habitats. Sounds idyllic… minus the midges.

Art conservator. What a lovely job. Low stakes, forensically interesting, nice clothes.
