Hi everyone, I am trying to change the eye direction of the cat on the left, to look at the camera in a free trial of Photoshop because I want to get the photo printed onto a canvas for my friends birthday.
Unfortunately, although I've tried and tried to follow YouTube videos on how to do it, I can't figure it out! Is there anyone on here who would be willing to have a go for me please?

Hi OP, well I'm sorry but I haven't got a clue how to do this however, I did Google a bit and if you have a free trial of Photoshop I wonder if you have the Neural Filter "Smart Portrait" included in your free trial?

This would allow you to adjust the gaze of a cat's eyes directly.
Apparently, if you do not have this direct and easier feature, the method is much more difficult to do this manually.

From Google:
An older, more complex method involves manually selecting the irises, copying them to a new layer, and then moving them into position while using masking and cloning to blend them naturally into the eye sockets, which requires more skill.

I hope there is someone on MN that is familiar with the programme and can help you, especially if you don't have the "Smart Portrait" feature included in your free trial.

If you go on Facebook you can search free photoshop groups, the people on those groups will happily make any adjustments for you. I've seen some amazing photo edits.

I’ve just done a very quick version on my phone using Photoshop express.
i used the draw tool to extend the pupil a bit more to the right, then filled in the colour of the eye ‘white’. I then added a hi light. Use paint dropper to select colours so you get an accurate match and keep transparency light.

I do have this feature but for some reason it doesn't recognise a face so it won't work!

I've only found one group and requested days ago but no one has offered to do it!

@purplepansyem
I'm really sorry to hear this, how frustrating!
There is a link you can Google for support from Adobe regarding Photoshop features , or any other problem.
Good luck!

hmm.. probably not much help but...zoom in mega times, select the lasso ? tool. Draw round each cat eye . Copy to another layer - normally wouldn't suggest but..

Now you've got the eyes experiment with erasing the pupil -:erase tool. Try repositioning it ...once you've got the cats gaze sorted then you can use select paint dropper to touch up/ repaint pupil and sclera.

🤔

OP, that is a really low res image, do you have anything higher resolution than 600 x 600?

At that resolution I'd expect to be printing a 2" x 2" image.

That looks really good

Unfortunately, that's the only image I have. She took it on her phone and uploaded it to Facebook.

Can you ask your friend to send you the actual file of this photo? Facebook makes the quality so much lower and you'd need a high res picture for proper editing, let alone printing.
What you need to do here sounds like a photo montage type of thing, here is a good guide for that, maybe it'll help. However, you really need to start with getting a better quality picture first, because the printing might make it even more blurry.
