Can anyone recommend some low upf ready to eat at M&S?

Am going to be busier than usual and less time for preparing meals. Would love to hear if anyone can recommend some tasty stuff that is fairly healthy. Salad pot type stuff?
M&S is easiest for me so would prefer to stick with it.
No dietary restrictions, although I only eat fish and chicken meat wise.

Lamb chops, Greek salad. Delicious

Ready made meal - spaghetti with meatballs. There is some potato starch in but I think everything else is plain.

thank you!

Their high protein meals are nice and only real ingredients as far as. I can tell. Good selection including fish, chicken and vegetarian/vegan options.

They're a bit pricy at £6 each but I see if I can pick them up reduced, they reheat fine after freezing even though it says they're not suitable.

It says right there in the OP “I only eat fish or chicken” so you’ve recommended lamb?

You can make an omelette and slice up an avocado and a tomato in the time it takes to heat up a ready meal.
I tend to dislike ready meals so when I have no time it’s good cheese, bread, eggs, fruit. Maybe a ready made soup from M&S.
A ready cooked chicken breast and one of those frozen bags of microwave veg?

Janefx40 · 13/09/2025 07:42

M&S do stir fry pots that are great - essentially just chopped up veg so no UPF and you can add noodles of your choice and some soy sauce for taste. You can also add chicken etc. Whole meal takes less than 10 mins.

i love M&S foods bur personally find their soups tasteless but I don’t eat meat so maybe meat ones better

Honestly? I don't really need educating, I can cook from scratch very well. My DP is in hospital and I am just not in the mood. I doubt a cous cous salad with some cranberry wensleydale will destroy my metabolic health for a short time.

If you look at the insta account go upf free it has some ideas. Look under Ocado tab and you’ll find lots of M&S stuff. I know their
lasagne for one is listed there (I buy it for my kids) although not the healthiest option!

MummySleepDeprived · 13/09/2025 18:20

Not a meal per se, but we often get their bakery bread and smoked salmon pate. I suppose you could add a salad alongside it if you wanted to be more balanced- but some days are just hard if your DP is poorly and no one would fault you for eating picky bits or a pastry if you so choose!

I like their prepared Salad Niçoise, with tuna, a hard boiled egg and all the traditional ingredients, I add my own mayonnaise!
The packs of poached salmon fillets are useful for all sorts of things, sandwiches, salads, noodle meals etc.
I think all their fish is good quality, and of course it's easy & quick to cook, especially the items you can just bung in the oven to bake. If I like the sound of a dish but it's something that comes in a pack of two, I often cook the whole pack, eat one portion hot, then have the second portion cold for lunch the next day, salmon is a good fish to do this with.

If you're buying soy sauce, choose the traditional fermented brands like Kikkoman to avoid upf ingredients.
