Washing machine giving electric shock!?

Years ago my washing machine used to give me a mild shock when I touched the metal casing whilst washing up, everyone told me it was static and that I mush be imagining it, but I got a new washing machine and the problem stopped so I figured it was all fine
just now I got a shock again whilst washing up- the floor had got wet under the washing machine and I was standing in the water and when I touched the water from the tap, I could feel a shock go through to my fingers.
thought I was imagining it but turned the washing machine off and it stopped- turned it on and it happened again when I was touching both the running tap water and the puddle on the floor..
what could cause this?? The plug somehow? Doesn't make sense for it to be the washing machine seeing as it's happens with two now
posting for traffic because I don't know hid to fix it and I'm scared of my sink and washing machine now!

If it's actually a current running through your washing machine, it points to faulty wiring - I'd consult an electrician. It's not something to take chances with in my opinion.

I don't know if it's a current from the washing machine but it feels like a tingling feeling not like a painful shock.

There's obviously something wrong, but to avoid the expense of calling out an electrician, how about not washing up when the w.m. is on ?

I would call an electrician out for this, it doesn't sound anything like the static electric shocks people get that you described. At least call one for some advice.

It's a housing association property so I will call the repairs number in the morning- hopefully they will send someone out to check but not sure they will if they think it's the washing machine not the wall socket?

But it's happened with two washing machines so it shouldn't be the appliance. It's not a very common thing to happen - I would push them until they agree to come if only for your own peace of mind.

I once had a gas leak and cadence keot
xominf out and confirming the presence of gas with their detector things , and then the housing association would send people who would say they couldn't find the leak so there was no leak. I called them both out I think 7 times.
only got them to find the source of the leak and deal with it when the cadence man said he would stay and talk to them himself. I had to basically argue with them to even send anyone after the first time
i don't really trust the housing association to care but I will try and see
