Dad's bike was stolen last night. She reported it to the police with a detailed description but no serial number. She's just found it for sale on FB Marketplace. She wants it back!

How do we suggest we get it?

Contact the police and screenshot the ad

Update - DD and DH got the bike back!

Dd contacted the thief on FB about buying the bike and arranged a time to meet him. DH went with her. When BT (bike thief) turned up DD asked him how long he'd had the bike for and when he said a year, DD told him that was a lie because it was her stolen bike and she had photos to prove it. At which point DH said he was about to get out his phone and take a photo of BT for the police, but offered BT the alternative option of leaving the bike with DH and buggering off asap. Which is what BT did!

Dd and DH are delighted and VERY pleased with themselves.

That’s good news. I hope he was reported to the police. He is sure to steal again

I had a bike stolen, reported it, then found it locked up outside Tesco (by someone else). I called the police and they came and cut the lock off and gave it back to me.

My kids bikes were both stolen on the same night (I may have left the garage open) and I found them chained to a lamppost and the police said I had to leave them there because if I cut the chain it was criminal damage. I took a chance.

Something similar happened to a friend of mine. He and his mate (and his mate's two rottweilers) went round there and - er - repossessed it.😂
