Durable bed linen

Hello,

What's the most durable bed linen that you own, material, thread count and brand please? We have been using M&S Egyptian Cotton bedding but after two years we have found they wear out. They tear at the seams or tear along the button line.

I'm going to admit I am not a fastidious bed linen maintenance person. I wash once a week at 60C with vanish, then tumble dry. I don't iron. I unfortunately do not have the capacity to do anymore so I understand that a small price to pay is to get through bedding more frequently, but I would expect the bedding to last more than two years!

So I'm looking for something that can be tossed in the washing machine, then dryer, and will last.

Thanks in advance

It’s probably the tumble dryer.

I’ve had never had this happen to me, I’ve had stuff from Ikea and Tesco that’s lasted 10+ years

60 with vanish plus tumble dry is the problem.

I love 100% linen or linen cotton blends and have some very good quality sets from heals, John Lewis, made.com but they’d have been destroyed on that regime by now!

I wash them on 30 with bio powder, good rinse, line dry or over the heater airer. Perfect after 1-4 years between them.

I wash mine at 60º but use non-bio powder (allergies). Line dry in summer, tumble in winter. I have a set from King of Cotton that is easily 20 years old, maybe more, and still in good condition. And snowy white.

I bought an IKEA duvet cover about a year ago and so far it's fine.

I got this blue floral cotton bedding from Leruum a little while ago and honestly it’s been really decent so far – leruum.com/products/blue-floral-cotton-duvet-cover-bedding-set-sevilla

It’s proper 100% cotton, washes well at 60 and goes in the tumble dryer without shrinking or going rough. Feels quite sturdy compared to the usual high street stuff, and the print is actually nicer in real life. I’d say worth a look if you’re after something that lasts.

I wash at 60 with non bio and a tiny drop of disinfectant and line dry. I have M and S cotton sheets that are 20 years old. Will admit they are now a bit thin though the central part. Washed weekly in summer and every 2 weeks in winter, however I have 3 sets and alternate them.

Christy bedding is very durable. I used to buy Dorma, you just couldn't make it look old, it lasted forever!
