Easyjet gift card - 3rd party

We would like to buy some Easyjet vouchers as a gift but it doesn't appear they do them themselves however I can buy via a 3rd party. They list examples of companies you can purchase them from althoughone of them doesn't seem to do Easyjet anymore. The one that does is actually a travel agent so you need to book the flights via them.
Has anyone used this type of voucher before and found them ok? It's a lot of money for it to potentially be a hassle but we're really struggling with gift ideas and this would be great for them as they go on holiday a lot and use Easyjet.

Have you been asked to buy them as a gift ? It's a common scam

Plump82 · 10/09/2025 15:22

Ah yes, I know there's a scam that asks for similar but no this is my PIL of who have everything and we need to buy them something for their golden wedding anniversary.

I wouldn't buy Easyjet gift cards, the terms will not make it worth it.

You’d be better mocking up your own voucher (with the EasyJet logo if you want) with a promise to pay up to £x or for two flights to x destination.

It’s preferable to have flights booked on a credit card, yours or PILs, and not have a third party involved if anything goes wrong.

Plump82 · 10/09/2025 15:48

Agreed and actually after looking into it more, I did a mock booking and compared it against a booking on Easyjets app, the price was over £200 more. I like your idea of a mock voucher but I know my PIL wouldn't ever actually tell us when they're booking a flight to get us to pay it towards it. Back to the drawing board!!

It would be much safer to give the cash, that way they are not restricted to a specific booking site and also have more flexibility.

We were given travel vouchers as a wedding present from family members who had clubbed together for the gift - the company went bust before we had a chance to use them - it was a significant amount of money, but luckily the person organising the gift had paid for it with their credit card and was able to claim back the money from their bank.

if you listen to Martin Lewis, he always warns about giving vouchers as gifts as it can be so risky.

If you don’t want to give physical cash, could you say to them that you will pay for the flights and arrange with them when they want to book? You can get gift tickets made up online that look the part, it means they would still have something to open.

They won't do that. They're fine with vouchers but don't ever like to gift or be gifted actual money. Which is fair enough I guess. I wouldn't have an issue with it myself!

A few years ago one of my amazing friends gave me a TUI voucher for my birthday, I had no problems with it at all and put some of my own money into the holiday too so meant I could go somewhere I wouldn’t have otherwise been able to.
