12pm Party. Are lunch boxes ok?

I’m thinking of booking a party for my dd 7th birthday and was looking at a 12-2pm slot they have available at a play centre. The food they do at the party is cold food eg a lunch box with sandwiches, crisps, yogurt, cake. Is this acceptable food for a party at that time or do people prefer cooked food at this time at parties? Am I just over thinking it?

I've never had cooked food at a children's party.

It's fine. Children don't care about the food. They care about the activity and the party bag and maybe the cake.

Cold food works great at play centres. Easier to hand out, less mess, and kids usually just pick at crisps and cake regardless.

I just wasn’t sure what the etiquette was regarding food and whether parents prefer their child to go to a party that will provide hot food like chicken nuggets and chips if it’s a party around lunch time hours.

In all honesty if my DD went to a party which served sandwiches and crisps etc when they sit and eat at 1pm I wouldn’t bat an eyelid. But because I’m the one arranging a party I’m a bit nervous about it and just want to make sure cold food is fine. The food is served in those little picnic box things you get when you go to a cafe.

You’re overthinking it op. Lunchboxes will be fine.
