How many big house spiders have you seen in your house this season?

I think this year has been our worst. It started early august and still going now. I’ve just had to kill one this morning and now I feel guilty. Dp usually deals with them but he’s not here. I’m fed up feeling a prisoner in my own home.

I’d happily share my bedroom with a couple of lizards. They can catch all the beasties for me. Lizards are friends. Spiders are not.

I think I stood on one last night in the dark. Was watching TV and timer switches went off. This morning I found on the rug, infront of the sofa, a squashed thing that looks like a giant house spider. I am terrified of them.

Just two. One was missing two legs. I pop them under the kitchen cabinet for safety away from the cats. They were both mature males so will probably die soon. Not seen any females. I did have one living under my salt lamp, but I think she moved on. I never put them outside, but they do run the gauntlet with the cats around.

Put conkers on window sills. They don't like the smell.
