I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot as always. The kittens have been fed & vanished back to bed, and no-one else is up yet so it's nice and quiet. Perfect start to the weekend.

I've set the washer going with work stuff while I wait for dd2 to appear with her uniform. That might take a while though so it may get washed tomorrow instead 🤔.

I'm off to town with dd1 today, to buy a couple of suitcases to move her to uni next weekend. The plan is to do a click and collect order for bedding, pans and food, for next Saturday morning, so we're not lugging masses of stuff across London. Anything she's missing we'll either send, or transfer money for, while she's there, since she's ten mins from quite a variety of supermarkets and shops.

Dd2 didn't want to come with us, so she'll stay here with dad & probably do any homework that was given this week.

Hopefully we'll not be out too long and when we get in, I can start on some more peg dolls. I still have a fair few sets on my list & it keeps growing! I also want to get out yarn for either a crochet butterfly or jellyfish. Not sure which yet 🤔.

I have no idea what we're having for tea, we'll look when we get in & decide then.

You’ve reminded me that I really need to clear the pegs in the hall as they are bowing under the weight of several coats we never wear! I actually have a couple of really nice winter ones, including a Joe Brown, so will advertise them as finances are still pretty dire!

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I remember dropping off my two at various times to their respective unis. I always knew they'd be back at some point.
I have had two coffees and two slices of toast and two cuppas with a scone on black cherry jam. I've stripped the bed, washed everything and it's now in the tumble dryer. I've also been to Aldi and stocked up. Shortly I'll do mince in the slow cooker so that I can divide it into various things ie cottage pie etc. I'll do a chicken pie type dish for tomorrow I think. Then lentil soup in the slow cooker overnight. In a while, I will clean the bathroom, polish and hoover. Then tackle the paintings and photos in the dining room to decide where they are going. Most of the house has been painted and yesterday I had new blinds fitted. I'm waiting for the new suite to arrive next Sunday. I'm very pleased with the overall look. I really need to tackle the garden but my neck and shoulders are bothering me, so I might leave it today. Have a good day all

We are having a new bathroom installed, hopefully the final day.

I'm in a depressive slump on the sofa. Had the most horrendous week. Neighbours trying to stop our extension that's been approved making me not like living here, then my friend brother died so got a call in the middle of the night to go there, then my phone broke and now my car won't start so I ant even go out to try and escape this mess.

Then I feel guilty for letting these problems get to me be ayse I know there are people who would love to have just my problems.

The worry and stress has made me quite ill and it's a busy period at work. My stomach has been in so much pain and I'm not eating right. I have lost 4 pounds this week 😳

Sorry to being the tone down but I love reading about all your calm lovely days.

Sorry things are difficult at the moment @Odiebay and hope at least some of that gets sorted soon.

I’ve had a really busy start with 2 hours’ Saturday work as there is so much sick leave we’re struggling to cover the rota. But I was able to send dp off to see his mum who became a Great Grandmother yesterday, which I hope will lift her mood hugely as she is still grieving her husband. The baby is named after him which is lovely.

I have just driven to a beautiful riverside place to eat where I’ll be seeing a big group of friends - we haven’t all been in one place at one time for many many years, and am staying over tonight. The leaves are beautiful and the sky so blue.

Hi everyone! Didn't wake up till 9.45am! I've been full of a head cold since Wednesday and I feel absolutely rotten with it so I've cleared my usual weekend jobs yesterday so that I could spend two days in bed. I also have cystitis which I haven't had for a couple of years so I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself. Been working and usual weekly routine so feel I've not had a chance to rest.

I've stripped my bed and in the process of putting clean sheets on then I will shower and get back into my pjs. Did the food shop yesterday so I have loads of nice foods and snacks. Going to order an Indian later. Ds is away out with his friend and is having a sleepover so pure peace. Lie in tomorrow and another day of relaxing. Hopefully feel better for work on Monday

Good afternoon everyone, I’ve just found the thread after a busy morning.

I was up at 6.20am and had a quiet start but was in town for 9am, had my nails soaked off to give my nail beds a rest, treated myself to a new perfume, did a return at next and picked up the replacement parcel, picked my prescription up, nipped into Iceland and also picked up some fancy wine glasses as a present for dd18 to take to uni.

I’m spending the afternoon doing the washing, waiting for my Tesco delivery and just generally pottering about. Dh is off work today and wants to nip out to get his hair cut, dd18 is packing up her room and dd11 is entertaining herself in her bedroom for now.

Tea tonight is chicken drumsticks, spicy rice and salad. Ds24 and his boyfriend are coming for tea then staying for the last wine and film night with dd18 before she leaves and dh is disappearing to the pub and leaving us to it. Dd11 will join us for the first film and enjoy the snacks but she’ll then go to bed while we watch another one and no doubt drink too much wine and stay up too late 😂

We've got uni year 2 approaching. I tried the big laundry bags last year @lucysmam and I couldn't lift them 🤣. We've just brought a mini flatbed trolley thing for boxed items, and use suitcases for clothes. City uni so we have to park and trek across town for the time slot!

I've walked the dog first thing, then we went for the first Pumpkin Latte of the season, and the last coffee date of the summer with her before she goes. Just had a toastie for lunch. Then she wants to play some board games before we finish "Wednesday" this evening.

My bathroom disaster has been dragging on since January. Should be the last day on Friday, if the latest promised builder turns up!

It’s my birthday so I’m sat around in my best frock at my mothers waiting for family to arrive.

I was up a bit later this morning - didn’t wake up till almost 8.30. Then just chilled a bit with tea and more tea and breakfast of toast with peanut butter and banana. Went out for my walk after.

Plans for the day are prepping for having friends over for dinner tonight. DH has just made a large lamb tagine which is simmering away. He’ll make a rice pilaf later to go with it. I am making a ginger and lime cheesecake and prepping roast veg. And doing the tidying and clearing up. Place is a bit (lot) cluttered so a good sort out will be needed.

Gorgeous day here too. Would like to be able to just sit out and read my book.

Hope your bathroom finally gets finished @daffodilandtulip I am really hoping ours gets finished today as they go on holiday tomorrow and then have a big project. The builder said he'd be here at 9am and 9.30am was getting nervous but he's here and working hard. Will be very happy to get a toilet back and not have to negotiate entry to downstairs one with asd DS.

Afternoon all I’m very late as very stressful morning which ive cried and cried . My son is 33 and is lovely but involved with a girl who’s had her children taken off her for various reasons and we can’t talk any sense into him . I could easily run away today but tomorrow is another day so hopefully be beta . I’m goin Dwn to my dads house as we got estate agents coming Nxt week as me and my brothers decided sadly it’s best to sell it rather than to rent it so I’m goin to make sure it’s all tidy and run a duster over everything although there is not much there now . I hate goin there it makes me so sad but il put my big girls pants on and crack on . Have a great and safe day all 🫶

We have toilet in now but saying a builder is coming back on Monday. Happy with that.

Just a fly by visit from us. We has our usual SSS (Saturday Swimming Saga) today and now we're all getting to ready to head out to a family friends wedding party. The civil ceremony was just a very small affair at the local town hall but we're all joining them at a lovely gastro pub from 4pm. Massive (posh) buffet, music etc. Kids have to be put by 8pm so we will have a good few hours.

It's a 10 minute walk from our house so even better.

We had a camping toilet for two months after our builders went awol 🤣

That's not great of the builders @daffodilandtulip We are now the proud owners of an upstairs toilet and its great not having to negotiate use of toilet with asd DS or find chips down the toilet.

Hopefully finished on Monday but at least all the vital parts are done. Hoping they will take all their stuff with them too, about half has gone but they took over several rooms with tools. Really nice guys but I so want to clean and tidy but not too much point until they have finished.
