Hello wise people,
I've always been one of those people who seems to catch every bug going around. Nothing major, but I just seem prone to coughs, colds etc.
Generally I also often feel tired, run down, prone to mouth ulcers and cold sores, always cold etc.
I'm overweight and struggling to get it off.

I'm now 40, but this has been going on for over a decade (but it seems to sometimes worse, then gets better).

I'm generally happy, sleep well, I could eat better (working on it!) But my diet isn't terrible. I have lots of fruit and veg. I eat a good amount of meat. I suffer with IBS and take synprove every day which has helped, so i don't eat a lot of processed crap/takeaways etc.

Over the years the doctors have done numerous bloods and tests-all come back excellent! I'm not even close to be anaemic, thyroids great etc.

So, I think this is just me, especially since having DC (now 7, but sleep was broken for the first 3 years!). Does anyone have an amazing multivitamin or something they swear by? Or anything. I can't have more sleep, I already sleep 8-9 hours a night on average and can't get to bed any earlier.

Thank you!!

Exercise

The more you do the better you feel. It’s counter intuitive, but true.

I’m never ill but I work with young children so I think that helps. Maybe get a four year old to sneeze fully into your face twice a day.

I joined a gym this year and I go quite a lot of times but for a short time. My whole body feels so much better. Before, I was having a massage every six weeks because I was aching so much from all the bending and sitting on the floor I do at work.

Echinacea and zinc. Start taking it asap.

I was feeling knackered a month or so ago but started trying to walk faster. Loads of killing hills here but after three weeks of doing it every day I felt much perkier. I normally walk three miles in an hour but have knocked a few minutes off that. Just to say I have had gundogs for decades so walking three miles in an hour is my standard daily walk. But upping the intensity a little has definitely had an effect.

Honestly exercise is better than any pill you could ever take.

Things that give me more energy -
Drinking plenty of water regularly through the day - this makes such a difference to me,
Eating three good meals a day and never missing a decent breakfast e.g. porridge/boiled egg/fruit etc,
Having healthy snacks when I flag - fruit, honey and yoghurt, toast, veggies,
Cutting out sugar as much as possible,
Not drinking alcohol,
Getting some relaxing time in before bed so I sleep better.

Sleep. Relax. Sleep and more sleep.
Exercise/time outside.

Nutritious food.

Vitamin D and K(important)

Exercise and more water than you think. Avoid foods that spike insulin.

That's about it really

Did you have your ferritin checked? Drs will mark it as normal at much lower levels than are actually optimal - same with b12. Tsh needs to be lower than the 5 that a gp will mark as normal. Did they do a full thyroid panel?. Most people in the uk need a vitamin d +k supplement. Also folate.

Pint of water as soon as I get up, I take multivitamins and extra B vitamins at the same time.
Low carb high protein diet with no bread, pasta or white rice, these make me so sluggish so I try to avoid.
Walking, cycling or swimming every day when possible.
