A Council office in Aberdeen (we were desk mates). It's random because we went to the same fairly small RAF primary school in Germany.

Went to school on the South Coast. One summer holiday I visited relatives in South London. Halfway across a zebra crossing I looked up and saw a girl I sat next to in class coming the opposite way.

On Saturday I go to a concert five minutes walk from home, given by someone I started school with 65 years ago today. I haven't seen him since I went to the GP in 1985 and he was doing a locum shift. We now live in the same village 60 miles from where we few up.

Next door. In a different town far from where we grew up (and we’d never kept in touch or had any idea we’d moved to the same area - this was pre social media). The oddest thing about it was I only realised when he was moving out.

2 diff encounters with people I went to school with:
Hotel in Rhodes - pleasant enough
maternity ward - thank god it was Covid- I hid behind the mask when we crossed paths. Hated the girl and school and still hate her!

In crown court - I was the barrister and she was a juror! We had to replace her.

Standing in a queue in Disney World, Florida, about 30 years after we'd been at primary school together. I only noticed because her husband said her name and it's the same as mine, so I looked up. She's the only other person with my name that I've ever met.

Neither of us is Italian, neither of us had been to Italy before.

Don't think I have bumped into any classmates, but I did bump into some of my brother's university friends from Manchester in a youth hostel in San Francisco. I bumped into my French teacher in Edinburgh (went to school in the London area). I also bumped
Into a teacher from my school while on a country walk in France.

Not actually bumped into them, but after qualifying in the Midlands I ended up in a small town, a little south of Birmingham, practicing dentistry. I am originally from West Yorkshire. A local teacher joined the practice as a patient. After recognising his distinctive accent it turned out we had lived less than a mile from each other as children and attended the same school although he would have been 6th form when I was a first year.

In the last 43 yrs since leaving West Yorkshire I haven’t met anyone I was at school with. Even when I have visited the area. To be honest I don’t think I’d recognise anyone now.
