What do I do now!?

I’ll keep this short..

I took my iPad into a menders to fix a broken screen. That was the only problem it had. I got it back and they had glued down the volume buttons, so I had to take it back for them to sort out.

After almost 2 weeks I got it back yesterday and it is completely dead. Not charging. Not turning on. No signs of life. I have used 2 different chargers to make sure it’s not that that’s broken although it’s working on other devices, I have blown into the Charging port to make sure that’s clear and also did a forced restart. There is no battery dead sign or battery charging sign when I put the cable in, basically it is unusable.

However, these people are THAT approachable.

What do I do? I only wanted a fixed screen!!!!!

So go back, get a refund and send it somewhere else.

The job now is going to be far more expensive than just an original screen replacement.

Check the paperwork they gave you for terms and conditions, then talk to them - nicely in the first instance but escalate if necessary.

Are the a hole in the wall outfit or part of a chain?

I’d be surprised if their terms and conditions did not cover them. It’s entirely possible that fixing a broken screen would reveal or even cause other problems. Their responsibility would be to be clear about that possibility up front rather than provide a new device if your turns out to be broken. Sorry.

Mine was working absolutely fine before. I’ve had no issues with it. Ever.

@NCDailyGame

my point is that there might have been damage when the screen was cracked, or some of the cracked pieces might have been hiding damage, so that the act of repairing the screen would reveal further damage. That is a very likely scenario which cannot be ruled out in any repair situation which is why I’d expect their t&cs would cover them.
