Sudden changes at 35+

Can anyone relate or help me understand what could be the problem?

Since I turned 35 earlier this year I have noticed a massive shift in how I feel.
I have little interest in much, I feel overwhelmed by the smallest things, I have felt slightly agitated at times recently but that could have been around the time of my period. My sex drive has gone from being great to none existent.

Is it a hormone shift or maybe burn out from the daily grind? Nothing in my life has changed but things I once did without thinking now feel like it’s all too much.

Anyone else?

Interested to hear others opinions as I'm feeling similar.

My periods have gone from regular length, cycle, flow etc to just 48 max & barely anything (im not complaining about that, its just new)

My sex drive has never been huge but its now non existent. I can't be bothered with myself, let alone my partner.

Def more irratitable & less social. I can't be arsed to wear make up or care what anyone thinks i look like. Don't want to go out socialising or if I do I much prefer day time meet ups.

I know i am not depressed. Im happily doing a skin care routine, eating well, feel content (when at home alone or with my immediate family)
I dont feel sad or anxious. I just dont give a shit about most things that used to bother me.

Its sounds quite freeing & i suppose it is but its very confusing & at odds with what i know.

My joints are rubbish now, especially my knees, but I did have my first and only baby at 35 so it may be related to that. Who knows, my periods are light some months and not others too.

Sounds hormonal, see your GP and ask for bloods

I felt and looked as though I aged overnight after turning 35. There is something about turning 35.

I agree! Before 35, I could eat anything I wanted. Then, despite everything being the same and eating the same I just started putting on weight! Tired before but I had young DC, but was then exhausted. Unable to get up from a chair in the evening without hobbling. Foot pain, knee pain, legs, back. From 35 to 36, I aged. A lot. Which sounds crazy.

I definitely noticed changes at 35. Started to have little health problems, not always getting to the bottom of them. My reasoning was that in biological terms I could be a grandmother by then and therefore no longer needed to be in excellent health any more, systems could start going faulty without it mattering as much 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thankyou for posting this. I'm 36 and could have written this post but thought I was losing the plot. Not sure I know what the answer is though I'm afraid.

Following out of interest!

Thank you to everyone who has replied, it makes me feel less alone.

My periods are still regular but they are much lighter and only last half the time they used to.

I mentioned how I felt to my GP - they laughed and said I was too young for it to be anything so I have struggled on all year but other people have started to notice. My mum thinks I’ve been quiet, my daughter comments on me being overwhelmed and my poor partner is constantly trying to be positive for me. I hate feeling like this but have no idea how to fix it.
