All of those lovely angry men have decided to fully support England women's team in the Rugby Cup.

‘…but I’m just asking questions’ puts hands on cheeks, widens eyes ‘oooo, you’re all so mean to poor wee me who only saw it on Facebook and didn’t even read the words there…’

One numpty painted the English flag on a roundabout in Llandudno!
I assume the Welsh dragon rendering took a little more artistic skill!

This is an old photo but always makes me laugh...

Brilliant

On the one hand I love it because it annoys the smug, sneering, bullying woke left. And anything that annoys them makes me happy. English and Scottish and Welsh identities, plus our broader British identity, really are under threat. You cannot have mass immigration and retain your identity. It's as obvious as 2 + 2= 4. If 20 million Japanese moved to Ireland, Ireland would be transformed, and if 20 million Germans moved to South Korea, South Korea would be transformed. It's a lie that you can have mass immigration and yet still retain your identity. Of course you can't. And the left know you can't.

However, I am a little suspicious of the kind of Englishness this celebrates (and I'm talking here about England specifically rather than Scotland or Wales or Britain). To me, England means Shakespeare and Jane Austen and Dickens and the Brontes and George Eliot and Virginia Woolf and Wilfred Owen and P. G. Wodehouse and Stephen Fry and Monty Python and David Bowie and cricket and charm and manners and self-mocking humor. That's the England I love. The England of Oxford and Cambridge and Durham cathedral and the poetry of Philip Larkin. Unfortunately, these people seem to represent another England, an England I can't stand – the laddish, oafish, beer-swilling England. The Chap magazine perfectly captures the England I love. These people seem to stand for the England I hate.

‘Oh do fuck off dear’. Saying it louder for those at the back and the hard of hearing.
