Help! Getting the smell of vomit out a car

My DD’s friend was sick in our car a few days ago. She must have eaten a cow beforehand as it was absolutely everywhere, I’ve never seen so much sick. Managed to clean it up at the time and have clean the fabric every day since with zoflora, carpet cleaner and neural but the smell is really really strong still. What can I do without paying £100 for a valet?

I had a similar problem a few years ago and I ended up caving in and paying for a valet. Tried everything but nothing worked. Hope you find a better solution OP.

Ah I may just have to bite the bullet - though also thought of hiring a rug doctor to use on it

You could try baking soda- make into a paste, leave on for an hour and then wipe clean.
we have also used a pet urine spray / bio enzyme spray on a carpet at home that was vomited on- that worked well.
hope that helps, it’s a horrible thing to happen.

Yep baking soda ( bicarb) really helps get rid of the smell. Do leave it on for a while though.

Another vote for bicarbonate of soda, or perhaps a specialist cleaner for vomit if you can find anything?!

Biological washing powder gets rid of the smell - scrub the area with a strong solution, rinse off and air dry. I used that for everything from spilled milk, vomit and cat pee.

I had the same problem. A sudden onset of norovirus while driving - horrific!

I tried baking soda, white vinegar, proper car shampoo. Nothing worked. I had a brainwave - we happened to have an ozone machine so I tried putting that on for half an hour. Worked brilliantly. They're very handy things to have, ozone machines.

I agree with baking soda (bicarb) mixed into a paste.
Also leave a bowl of dry bicarb in the car, it soaks up odours.

So I did the Bicarb soak, and then used a rug Doctor to deep clean and it seems to have gone! The real test will be when I give it a sniff in the morning!

Used a pet urine enzyme cleaner spray first then bicarb after DD threw up over me in the car!

Worked very well but you have to leave both on overnight if possible.

We used baking soda which got rid of some of the smell but not all. Also much of the baking soda paste ended up permanently embedded in the carpet. 😅 We just had to ride it out basically.

Bicarb of soda after washing with bio laundry liquid. Dont use hot water or you will break down the enzymes so it won't work 30°C max. I really hate bad smells op feel for you.

Stuff for pet related mess worked in my car when all else failed

White wine vinegar spray!
