Things to do in Cambridge?

I'm visiting someone at Addenbrookes hospital in the morning and would like to do something after in or around Cambridge. I don't know it at all. I'm travelling from just outside London so it's a big ish journey by car so wanted to make the most of my day while I'm out that way.

Any recommendations appreciated!

The Cambridge Botanic Garden is just a short walk up from the train station and is a peaceful retreat from the city. The cafe isn’t bad either.

another vote for botanics or Fitzwilliam if you like art - it’s a nice city to wander around/shopping to - do not attempt to drive in the centre however - I would recommend parking at. Trumpington park and ride - then you can get a bus to addenbrookes, then into town and back to the park and ride

I was going to suggest the FitzWilliam Museum too if you like history or art.

If it’s a nice day walk from grantchester to Lammas land or vice versa. Lots of nice pubs in grantchester for lunch. The anchor/ granta pubs have lovely views over the river. Here you would be a short walk to the backs of the colleges which are gorgeous.

What kind of a thing? The Botanic Garden is a good shout and you can park relatively near by at the Leisure Park. There are lots of free museums. The city centre is just lovely to walk around. If you don't want to take the car into the city you can park at the park and ride near Addenbrookes and get in that way.

King's College Chapel is nice.

Also the Orchard Tea Room in Grantchester if you prefer somewhere you can drive to.

These are all great, thank you. Will definitely tick a couple off the list! Definitely the botanic gardens and either the Fitzwilliam or kettle's. Also fancy a wander round the city centre too.

Just to let you know that one of the roads near Addies is closed due to a burst water main. The traffic today was backed up for miles.
Do yourself a massive favour, park at Trumpington and take the busway.

Bill's in the city does a good breakfast by the way

BoOk (and pay) for Kings College. The Eagle pub for a spot of lunch. Some great bookshops. Lovely walks around the river..

Fitzwilliam Museum. Used to be free, not sure about now.

Walking around the city can be pretty hellish this time of year.
As you are in the car, I would park in Chesterton have lunch at the Green Dragon and have a bit of a walk by the river.
