Time to reclaim the English flag from the right

This whole flag thing feels like it’s getting out of hand. It’s blatantly been claimed by the right wing and although you get the ‘why shouldn’t we hang our flag and be proud to be British?’ Brigade, I haven’t seen or heard anyone with left liberal values boasting about hanging the flag. It’s being done purely to intimidate migrants and minorities.
So how do we go about making being proud to be British back to being proud to be a country that believes in helping others, being multicultural, being compassionate , embracing the things that make us all different?
The only thing I can suggest is hanging the same flags but with slogans on that shout out support for all of the things listed above, I can’t think of another way to reclaim it for what I consider the true values of being British?

You are out to lunch if you think it’s only white people who are worried about immigration saturation, or if you think only white people are proud of our flag. Blimey. Not only are you classist… but imagine your surprise when you realise…. You’ve just outed yourself as racist.

If you are vaguely proud of your country and it’s culture you are called a racist - when that has no affect then bigot is the next word of choice - nope has no affectusually Nazi comes next! What are you all going to do at the next election?

Young white males are being kept out of employment. They see young asian men getting qualifications and in employment. It fuels racial disharmony. The young men can be trained on the job to do practical tasks. Rather than focusing on flags - which are pretty unimportant unless you make an almighty fuss over them - we should focus on how to deal with the poor quality of our education system and the deprivation arising from it.

You should put the flag up AND have a conversation with your neighbours 😉

“Most people are too busy … to worry about flags…” is only something you can say from the comfortable experience of being white and British

I’m thinking of laminating some home made signs saying #Not in My Name and with the dove of peace and tying it to every lamppost in my street. Maybe we should all do that.
