Eating the kids leftovers is a start. Before would throw away bananas half eaten etc…even buying ice creams at the park (very rarely) we buy only for the kids…they usually only eat half…

Freeze any large potions of left overs so they can be used for another dinner. Write on the container as everything tends to look the same after freezing. We were expecting cauliflower cheese and ended up with fish pie.
Pop smaller potions of left overs into the fridge to be used for the following day's lunch.
Meal plan and make from scratch as it's often healthier and works out cheaper for us.
Make use of all veg, e.g, add left over carrots to potatoes to make mash. Air fry veg to add to pasta. Add different seasonings to add variation. Nothing is wasted.
Make soup with 'less fresh' veg.
Look at the reduced sections in supermarkets. We freeze meat to use another time and fruit/berries to add to cereals, cakes, smoothies.
Only buy offers if we can use them.

Looking forward to reading other tips too.

Shop more often and smaller amounts, it was rare for anything to need to be chucked but now it’s never going to happen as stuff should never go off.

Slow cooker batch cook.
put into plastic reusable take away tubs and freeze.
I tend to chuck in extras so anything at the bottom of the fridge about to go off, chop up and throw in, bulk up with lentils, chick peas stuff like that.
I’ve bolognaise, veg curries, macaroni cheese in the freezer at the moment, in single tubs so everyone can choose what they want.

Big bags of frozen fruit and veg, especially on offer.

A whole chicken thrown in the slow cooker makes 2 meals in our house. Roast dinner or chicken wraps and a Home made chicken pie with left overs.

Something on toast one night, poached eggs or beans.

We “eat out of the freezer” one night a week, so throw whatever is in there towards a meal, it’s a free meal really.

Meal plan for the week and shop according to what is on that list. Saves a lot of money.
