Can anyone remember an 80s mini series where the lead was attacked by a crocodile and became beautiful?

Think it was Australian. Absolute nonsense but would love to see it again. Lead actress pushed into a river (I think) to be eaten by crocodiles but survives, is rescued by a plastic surgeon (very random) who makes her beautiful and she returns to wreck her revenge.

Or something like that.

Ring any bells?

I remember watching it too, I must of been about 5 at the time. I loved those trashy series that were on in the 80s.

I used to love these big epic mini series. Return to Eden was so good. They just don't make stuff like this anymore.

Loved Return to Eden. Can anyone remember the mini-series about two red head twins (female). One was good, one bad. Think the bad one was married to a plastic surgeon.

Saw the thread title and KNEW this was Return to Eden! They don't make 'em like that anymore. Sidney Sheldon's... anything at all had a similar vibe.w

I watched a bit of it in a friend's house and subsequently read the book. It was trashy but compelling.

I remember it, but can't remember the name. The actress who played Jennifer Hart (Hart to Hart) played the twins. I thought she was ever so glamorous . The bad twin was caught up in some nefarious activities (or possibly was having an affair with a bad 'un). She got killed and the good twin had to try to figure it out. The good twin ended up with the bad twin's ex-husband. So it all ended happily ever after.

Remember it well. There was a book too!

Ooh yes. Very happy memory of crowding round tv in holiday chalet in Norfolk watching Return to Eden - complete with huge interference so Dutch television kept cutting in 😫

Deceptions - I remember the music was “I’m so Excited” by the Pointer Sisters. It all looked so glamorous .

I remember a sl british series in the 80,s where the leading character was a women and became a Truck Driver ,I thought she was played by Billie Whitelaw but whe I googled her non of her roles seemed to match?

does anyone remember an island where a woman disappeared? Her sister posed as being blind and went to find out what happened to her.

I don't remember the crocodile series (altho it sounds right up my street!) but I do remember Lace and Lace 2 (TV and book - it went round my all-girls school like wildfire!).

Also this Sidney Sheldon book/film If Tomorrow Comes - my good god I LOVED this when I was 15!!

I loved If Tomorrow Comes. Heroine double crossed and ends up in prison and deserted by rich fiance only to earn her release, become a master thief and seek revenge. Superb. Also Master of the Game. Going to have to find my copies and re read them.

Oh yes If Tomorrow Comes I adored, also read Lace far too young I suspect, mind you Flowers in the Attic wasn’t much better, more traumatic if anything. 🤣 Ambition by Julie Birchall, another book that was quite the eye opener at 15! The flip side of being a voracious reader.

Spent the afternoon watching Return to Eden on a dodgy firestick. Crocodiles, 80's fashions, a surgeon who could have been the fourth Bee Gee and romantic musical interludes courtesy of Beethoven. What's not to love?

Me too!! It was really big. I was a young teen in oz and loved it.

I recall Terry Wogan talking about this on his radio show: "I'm being inundated by letters from women listeners wanting to know where they can find the crocodile."

IIRC there were a couple of mini series featuring Stephanie Powers as twins. One was Deceptions where two sisters swapped lives for a few weeks and while they were away one of them was murdered. But it was the wrong twin and so the intended victim had to investigate her own murder. And also had to tell the husband that his wife was dead and she was an imposter.
But there was also one (I think a Sidney Sheldon) where one sister was really mean and she married a plastic surgeon and he made her ugly on purpose so she couldn't keep having affairs.

I watched all these things when I was far too young and I'm sure they negatively influenced me as to what relationships were like.

Loved If Tomorrow Comes - had huge crush on the actor who was her competitor jewel thief and whose name I can't even remember now!

Knew it was going to be Return to Eden; my Gran loved it!
