Sleep apnoea

Exhausted and worried at 4am again here. My husband is in his mid 60s, fit as a fiddle not over weight, non smoker and drinks alcohol maybe a couple of times a month eg a beer or wine. He is showing all the symptoms of the above, snoring and the awful business of not breathing for sometimes more than 20 seconds then gasping for air. It’s keeping him us both awake, as in response to the snoring I prod him to roll on his side. I feel he should go to the doctor, understand it can lead to other health problems. Do special pillows help? Tennis balls? Really want to help. Then decamp to the spare room.

He needs a sleep study asap then a CPAP machine will be issued
Book a Docs appointment and go with him so you can say that you're getting broken sleep due to his snoring etc

Im wide awake at 5am for different reasons but honestly the CPAP changed my life.
