Frying pans that aren't non-stick

I need a new frying pan and am looking for one that isn't non-stick as I've been reading about how the coating they use isn't good for us. So can anyone recommend a really good quality frying pan that is going to last. Ideally not aluminium as well.

I use my cast iron skillet all the time, in fact it's my only frying pan.

You can pick them up second hand quite cheaply, they are not light though.

I have had a stainless steel saute pan by Cristel since 2019, it is without a doubt the best pan I have ever had and still looks new. I have a friend who is a professional chef who sometimes cooks for me and she loves it too. I use it for frying and in the oven, but they make dedicated frying pans as well if that's what you want. I have never had a problem with anything sticking to it and it comes clean with a soak and a quick rub round. It cost an arm and a leg but if I'd got one originally instead of spending money on a succession of mid range pans I'd be quids in by now.

I saved some money by using the lid from one of its predecessors, which fits perfectly.

Edited to add that I chose it in preference to cast iron as it's much lighter.

All my pans/frying pans are stainless steel. I’d definitely recommend them - even (occasionally!) burnt on food is easily cleaned after soaking.

Another who uses exclusively stainless steel pans. I’ve had my le creuset ones for more years than I can remember and they still look new.
