Hello,

my niece has just been diagnosed with ADHD hyperactive she’s now starting medication she’s 21.

she struggles at work due to the negative thoughts in her head, does anyone know if PIP can help her? She works for agency but some days she struggles?

PiP is more about support needs like for personal care, food preparation and travel. If she can manage to live and work independently it probably won’t apply. The meds may help her mood and ability to cope.

She struggles with remembering personal tasks such as brushing teeth and getting dressed, she has her mum sort her with a packed lunch due to forgetting to eat and drink leading to bingeing and doesn’t drive due to she cannot focus do you think they still wouldn’t help her in those instances?

There is no harm in applying, it’s a long hard process and not given out easily though

If she gets by with prompting she won’t be scored highly but may still qualify overall. One part is personal care, the other about mobility. Can she use public transport or is she dependant on lifts/taxi? She may need to evidence her difficulties.

There’s a website called pipinfo that guides you through each question (or it did when I worked in welfare!)

Very unlikely based on that alone tbh
