Username change for this.

So I have a fissure on my clitoral hood / vulva area, just above my clitoris. It has been re-occurring for a long time and I’ve been to the GP multiple times. They’ve prescribed me creams and currently I am trying lotriderm on it.

They said it’s most likely caused by thrush and the skin being really dry / cracked / sore. I am sick of it though - and sick of getting thrush.

GP doesn’t seem to be worried about it and thinks I don’t need a referral to a specialist.

So, if anyone has a similar issue and any magic creams / treatment that has worked for them please let me know!!

Sorry I dont have any treatment suggestions but I would ABSOLUTELY be insisting on a referral to Gynaecology.

So sorry your going through this.
Have you taken antifungal meds? I’m sure you have.
maybe you could try taking some probiotics?
u was told by my pharmacy that if I take antibiotics then my body gets rid of all bacteria - good and bad. So thrush can happen.
probiotics can prevent this.
you can take probiotics over the counter.

Thank you for your replies- I’ve even been to a sexual health clinic and they didn’t seem bothered by it. You’re probably right- I need to push for my own health 😤

Have you tried boric acid suppositories to treat the thrush?

Tell them it’s on your penis and it’s cracked and sore and see how quickly they get that sorted. OP that sounds so so painful, I’d 2nd the probiotics but also ask for a referral so you can work out what’s causing this, they can’t just keep throwing random creams at you!

I'm a GP and that's an absolutely reasonable request for a referral. Do some research, find the closest clinic to you that specialises in vulva problems and ask specifically for a referral there, if refused ask why.
