Those who are more "relaxed" about Best Before Dates - would you eat these?

Clearing out the freezer today and I've come across two packs of pigs in blankets that we got from the butcher at Christmas.

Eight months on - would you eat them, or is that a step too far? I'm usually very relaxed about best before dates - there's nothing on the packaging about eat before or best before etc, but with it being pork, even I'm a bit undecided 😂

Yes.

The best before date is because manufacturers want us to eat their foods whilst, in their opinion, the item is still at its highest quality and gives no cause for complaint.

You have frozen your product within that time frame and captured the quality.

Go for it!

Sorry but this doesn't apply to meat and fresh foods. They always have a use by date not a best before date. A best before date is guidance. A use by date does mean that you should bin the product after that date.

However in this case OP, assuming you froze it before the use by date, I would crack on, and I'm fussy about this stuff.
