Murder Mystery Party for Teens/Tweens

Hello

does anyone have any suggestions for a murder mystery party company suitable for young 13 year olds?

we bought one from Night Of Mystery for £50 (which I thought was a lot) but some of the content was a bit too mature (one character sells dances to men for example) and my DC felt embarrassed about it.

Has anyone done one successfully with a fun theme with dressing up potential?

we checked out Freeform but they looked a bit more complex and none of the children have done this kind of party before.

thanks!

They have some in Waterstone's.

Thanks @Needlenardlenoo - have you used them and can you vouch for their suitability?

anyone else have any experience?

What about Exit type mysteries instead? Or do you want to do the dress up etc?

For tweens I'd probably look for a jewel theft or other mystery rather than a murder, you never know who gets a bit freaked out by details.

What about a "solve a murder" escape room in a box type thing? You can get them on Amazon and they are great - package of evidence that you have to read through, discuss, and which leads you to your solution. Most are rated by difficulty so choose an easier one for children.

In terms of dressing up - either they dress up as detectives/police, or according the theme of the story they are solving.

I’ve done this and was really fun.
try shot in the dark mysteries, there are maturity ratings which are quite conservative

Take them to an age appropriate escape room instead and they can dress up as the theme.

Thanks all.
the group is bigger than would fit an escape room, and we have tried the exit type games which were fun but we felt suited a smaller group also.
will check out shot in the dark, thank you @Notoironing!
