My eldest daughter gets married TODAY! I am SO excited!

I am single. I have no parents they both died sadly….but I want to shout from the rooftops!

i’m so very proud of her and her fiance they’ve worked so hard for this and everything they do.

Looking forward to a gorgeous family day ❤️

Hope you had a wonderful day and everything was just perfect, OP!

(I'm sad for me though as I didn't attend my only daughter's wedding...her DH's parents couldn't make it from the other side of the world owing to health issues, so her DH thought it wasn't fair if I went.)

That’s outrageous, actually 😲

I am sure besides the birth of your daughter this will be one of the most memorable days of your life.

Wonderful

Sending her some flowers.

Best Wishes

👰💐😻

That’s awful I’m so sorry to hear this. One of my friends had no guests at all as her husband didn’t want some of the family there so said none at all. After such a wonderful day on Saturday I can’t imagine that.

Congratulations to the happy couple. You need to come back and tell us all how it went. What did she wear? what did you wear? Did anyone get drunk and fall over😂

Isn't it? What an incredibly controlling and manipulative thing to do. Unless they both genuinely wanted a low key, super private wedding with no guests at all except witnesses, and this was the easiest way to justify it to family members who they knew would push for more?

Otherwise he sounds bloody awful.

Sorry to hear that, that's the most ridiculous reason!

OP it looks amazing! I'm glad you had a fantastic day. How brilliant when it goes the way it's planned.

Mother0fTheBride · 18/08/2025 19:16

I’m thrilled. She said today I don’t even wish I could do it again because it wouldn’t be as perfect 😍

Oh my goodness, it was the most amazing day. I don’t know how many times I went and gave her a kiss and told her how much I love her… and the groom. No speech from Me unfortunately but actually on the day I was just happy to soak up all the love and happiness in the room❤️ Because I’ve name changed I can share some photos! Thank you so much for this amazing thread. What a fantastic group of people Mumsnet attracts!

@NaneePollyhere you go ☺️
